Any tips on how I can prevent this?
Also lately my hair doesn't feel as silky when I flatiron it.
Could this be due to texlaxing?

Ella, I don't mean no harm.....but are you just fishing for something to talk about till the board is back up in running properly? Or is this a real hair concern? :look:

Both.
But this seriously bugs me and is one of the reasons why I'd like to go straighter

maybe you could try macheriamore's saran wrap technique?

My hooded dryer broke and I don't wanna buy the same one again.
Any recomendations for a dryer under 100$

I have a gold n hot I paid 30 bucks for it at the ASian BSS, 1 year later it's still going strong!

What are you using daily on your hair? Maybe it is being weighed down or it doesn't liek your flat ironed hair.

Also, I found that when I texlax, I have to do more swipes with the iron to get that straigh silky look. I figure, I am using heat, I mines well go hard or go home.

I heat it up to about 220 celsius.. I think this is well over 400 fahrenheit and I use just a little IC heat protectant and don't use anything on it after that.
If my hair gets rough tough... (the next day or within hours) I use either Hollywood Beauty Carrot oil or Keracare oil Moisturizer
I try to get by with just a 1 max. 2 swipes per strand.
my front is straight tough and I'm fine with just a single swipe on low heat

I noticed half the threads are missing...so all us ladies got to unite and migrate to this thread **LOL**

This is a good thread. I go through this myself sometimes. I dont know if its because of the products I use or because I'm texlaxed. Yet when I go to the hair dressers to get my hair done, and she does a roller set, it comes out straight! So I really dont know!!

I think that it is because of your products. I'm texlaxed, and if I dont use the right products, my hair will not come out as straight/shiney as I'd like it to.

Same here.

Ella, do you leave a leave in or moisturizer on your hair before the Fantasia?

Also, I find that I get more sleek and shine when I apply them all on my wet hair before it dries. After it is dry I flat-iron and it shiny afterwards.

Also, some leave-ins can cause some dullness, too. I can't use them all.

I saw that you said you apply just a little bit of IC serum and then flatiron. I'm texlaxed also and when I was just using serum, my hair will end up a frizzy, dry mess. I couldn't figure out for the life of me why my hair wouldn't behave. Well I've been going back and forth between heat protectants lately, but a stylist recommended Matrix Iron Smoother Heat Protectant. It is suppose to protect your hair from heat up to 400 or 450 degrees. When I read the ingredients and saw that it had alcohol in it, I was a little skeptical. I wanted to return it, but I couldn't find the receipt. Well, I used it and loved it. It didn't dry my hair out and my hair was silky smooth and shiny. Sometimes I have to wrap my hair and lay on it for a little while so that it all comes together and lay right when I comb it down. But I'll be using this for now on. Very little if any frizzies and I only swiped the iron once. It's about $14.00, but to me well worth it. What kind of flatiron are you using?

You know Herbal Essence used to have a very nice smoothing cream that had alcohol in it. It loved it. It never dried my hair out. I think stuff that has a alcohol base in it is the bad stuff.

I don't use any leave-ins

I thought my IC was a heat protectant... or was it V05?
I dunno what it was but it was in a pink bottle.

For a while I tried the redken heat glide but I'm not really impressed with it

mhhh so I should try a leave-in or another heat protectant?
The thing is when I first got my flatiron my hair was soooo silky, like it grew out of my head like that but I can't achieve this anymore and I forgot what I did to get there

IC is a heat protectant, but I know on Matrix's website, it says that some people think that serums are enough but it's not. For me it wasn't. My hair would always end up kind of frizzy when I was done. But, maybe you should try using a leave-in and also a heat protectant suited for your hair. You might have to test a few out (although that might get expensive), but I'm sure you'll find one you'll like. The serum alone might not be enough to tame your hair or aid it in getting straight.

Ok so I added a dab of Humectress all over my already aidried hair, then Redken Heat Glide and then I added Serum to every single strand.
So far my hair isn't reverting and still sleek after 12 hours... thank you ladies:)

I would try conditiong your hair before, do you use a lil oil before you flat iron.
Also, this maybe just me, but my hair was like that all the time before I got the CHi (recently) and now I know what really straight and swanging is.
