Which product are you asking about?

I used the naturlaxer in the past to texturize my hair. It was actually the reason I stopped lurking here and started to post (2002). After using it for a few months I noticed I had a lot of split ends and my hair was breaking. I posted about my experience and the advice I got was that it was drying out my hair. The hair dryness seems to be what happened to lot of us.

I stopped using it until I got my hair to stop breaking and my split ends under control. I had a few kits left after I cancelled my membership so I continued to periodically texturize with it but doing deep conditioners etc. all the good stuff I learned here, to combat any damage. I had joined the club to get the reduced pricing, and it shipped every six weeks. I ended up with a few extra jars and they said you could store for two years so I didn't throw them out. The last time I used it was august 2004 (my last jar of it) and before that it was in 2003. I didn't have any further problems with it (probably because I've only used it twice in the last two years) but I don't know if I will buy it when I'm ready to texturize this year, because there's been a lot of discussion here recently about products that don't tell you their ingriedients and this one does not. I would want to know what the heck's in it beyond:

7) What ingredients are in the Naturalaxer?
The Naturalaxer is made with minerals, vitamins, amino acids, nut butters, essential oils, emulsifiers, wax, and water.
Everyone's hair will not respond the same to the above.

This product did not get my hair straight (I wasn't looking for something that would get my hair straight anyway) it just made it easier to comb. If you are expecting to end up with straight hair then it's probably not for you. And the aftershots they show of straight hair, I think can only be achieved with lots of heat. Lot's of heat is a bad thing.

I notice that the site now has 'ADJ'S SUPER HAIR GROWTH TIPS' some of which is right in line with advice given here (maybe they copied LOL) and some people would disagree with. I wish they had provided this back then, maybe I wouldn't have come here to LHCF with the problems I had back in 2002.

I am not going to say use/don't use. Just be aware of the possible downsides and make up your mind.

I used these products when they used to have an informercial running a few years back...I liked the Pre-treat shampoo, its a nice clarifying shampoo. The hydrolyzer conditioner is a good moisturizing conditioner.
