Hi all,

I just thought it was somewhat amusing, since I am West African, that I always see "African" hair products in American stores since I moved here. In Benin women seek out American and European hair products and this is what sales.

Funny isn't it! I guess we're all using the same stuff.

And I think most of these "African" products are white-owned too. By the way, your sister has beautiful hair!

Thanks. Unfortunately I wasn't so lucky... My mother took folic acid when she was pregnant with my sister and attributes her hair to that.

Hi,

I don't meet too many from Benin so it's always nice. Folic acid is another great B vitamin that is instrumental in building healthy cells. All people need it but pregnant women need it much more than the average person. When my mother was pregnant with my sister she took it in large doses (it's water soluble so the excess is just flushed out). Results were that my sister's hair grows like crazy. She was born with a an afro!
