So, I'm getting a little sick and tired of wearing headbands with all of my looks . . . if for no other reason that they make my head hurt after a while.

BUT . . . I'm not quite comfortable with my hair yet . . . I mean, I love being natural, but I feel like the hair at my hairline won't quite do what I want it to do.

I guess I just need to get over it . . . but yeah. Just wanted to put that out there.

Random, I know.

I'm not comfortable wearing my hair pulled back without gel. I've tried but I just can't make it work. You just gotta keep experimenting or accepting that you're a headband person like I am a gel person lol.

I always wear headbands too. Real nice comfy ones by Sue Maesta from Ricky's. I got so many colors because it's kind of an obsession. Don't leave home without em. LOL

Once our hair gets longer and we have more styling options we can limit their use.

I'm a headband gurl too! I hate having a lot of hair in my face...and my hair can get poofy. It kinda just makes my face look fat(er) if I don't pull it all back off my face. I've always been this way though...I would Live in ponytails for years.

I'm a gel AND headband lady right now  Until these edges grow out and act right!:look:

Use your own hair as a headband. You can make a loose cornrow or two strand twist across your head.

I've been trying this too but not really loving it cause my edges are so jacked up but it may be the one style that helps me grow them in :yep:

I'm not natural yet but this is exactly how I feel. The entire post but especially the bolded part. I went out yesterday without my headband by accident and felt like I just misrepresented natural hair and discouraged future naturalistas. :nono:

I don't wanna be a headband person but I guess I am too now.

This times 1,000000000000000!:lachen:

I'm into headbands too. Mainly cause I'm transitioning and it makes it easier for my hair to stay in place.

Hi CandiceC!

I don't like hair in my face so I tend to pull it back somehow. I wear headbands, but usually the thin type when I wear my hair in puffs and buns. I feel kinda naked without it. LOL.

But I do understand because I am a gel girl. Cant leave home w/o it!

:yep: Yep, Im now a headband/scarf/hair accessory junkie. My edges lay down ok...I just like them and they are becoming a part of my signature lol. People at work always expect me to have something in my hair...plus it jazzes up a plain hairstyle and can detract from a crappy hair day. I cant wear big earrings at work so I accessorize with headbands lol.

Be careful Glib.

I experienced some breakage/stunted growth when I got my hair straightened recently. It's hard to tell whats going on with your hair til you straighten it. Mine is too damn tight to tell.

It looked like I had bangs. I told her I didn't have bangs on purpose. She asked if I wear headbands all the time and we decided that was the culprit.

So I try to go free-fro. Be careful wearing headbands and squeezing your hair into a puff.

Yeah, headbands give me headaches; and so do sunglasses. I can't keep them on very long. Those skinny ones were okay for a while, but just hiding my hair until I get to a length where I don't have to think about putting on a band.

I was never into headbands because they hurt so I wear the elastic ones that go all the way around. Without the elastic my hair will not stay down.

virtuenow I thought that was just me. LOL everyone always looks at me funny when I say that. But still I feel naked w/o them as well. Headbands, sunglasses, scarves and even ponytails do it. I'm suuuper sensitive.

I reallly wish I could find some headbands that didn't feel so tight.

Your just used to seeing your hair pulled back. I was like that but one day I didn't have one that matched my outfit so I went without and got so many compliments. Just try it for a few days. It's all in what your accustomed to seeing. Now I can wear my hair either way depending on my mood. It also helps to get clips with flowers on them and such. Wow this is long lol HTH happy hair journey!
