Well, on the 16th I relaxed my hair using Dr. $**tracle---ooops, I mean Dr. Miracle No-Lye Relaxer in Regular.
I have never used a worse relaxer than this in life. Except for that strong ass Dark and Lovely, but I digress. I did everything I normally do before a relaxer, not scratching, no over manipulating, no washing for at least 3 days before, etc.
I based my scalp and put the protective gel on my edges...and this relaxer ate my scalp up...my Mama didn't get the relaxer application in halfway before my scalp was on fire. I let her finish the application and smooth it for a few seconds but I couldn't take it and rinsed it out. I neutralized, shampooed, reconstructed, and deep conditioned. I put the "Feel It Formula" on and rollerset. Well that next day began shedding and breakage like I've never had before. I couldn't comb it without long hairs and tufts of short hair on the sink and floor.
This past week or so has been a protien and deep conditioning mission in what seems like futility...the only thing that REALLY helped was Motions CPR mixed with Aveda Damage Remedy Treatment. That stuff is goooood. My hair was so silky I thought I was Asian for a few minutes, lol. My hair is just starting to get back to normal but I had to trim a couple inches. *sigh* Tis okay. I'm taking my vitamins so I'll be back at BSL by May, but still. I am SO aggravated.
My super underprocessed hair:
All that breakage for nothing since the stuff didn't even touch the kinks in my head. I'm convinced it's the Dr. Miracle because I go through this same process every relaxer, I did nothing different that would lead me to breakage and hair loss. I know a couple people have had success with it but mannnn. **** a buncha that.
A lady here told me the same thing happened with a neighbor of hers except SHE lost all of her hair practically. And another lady said she put the Feel It Formula on and her scalp was on fire...but she mixed it with something. Anyways I do not trust this stuff. I should have kept walking when I saw the advertisements...who's marketing strategy was that?
Don't forget about the 6 huge chemical burns it left on my scalp! Ugh...
I ordered my Affirm Fiberguard and I will do a corrective with that when it arrives. This tears it, no more experiementing with new brands of relaxer. I'm sticking with Affirm.
