I decided to go back to basics with a lot of things I do pertaining to my hair regimines. Which includes going back to my hairdresser in Brooklyn. I am/was about 10wks post relaxer and usually I bring my own because she doesn't carry Motions. When I went to see her last week she informed me she now has Motions
I called her yesterday to say I may be coming in for a touch up and asked if she had Mild (I have a headful of color so I need to be extra careful!)...she said no but I will put conditioner in it... WTF...
I said, yeah ok. (muttering to myself, has this girl lost all of her faculties!!!)
Now note, while applying the relaxer she does use some "conditioner" in an applicator bottle to assure that the relaxer is not too far to the scalp or processing too fast in certain areas...but mixing it in the relaxer to lessen the strength...IONO about that one. I have "spiked" it with some EVOO and that seemed to be ok but conditioner???
Of course I took no chances and stopped off to my BSS to get the Motions/Mild. I go to her and say I have brought my mild and I don't want super straight hair...leave the "wave pattern" (to make it also appear slightly thicker since it has thinned so much do to the color process)... Now she comes with her bowl and the CONDITIONER and almost does half and half
She is applying it like she usually does (new growth only) and now I am getting paranoid because its looking "straight" and I am squirming but I trust her impecably but this was something totally unheard of to me. Well to make a long story short...she rinses me out/ conditioners and all that other jazz and roller sets me. Dryer/ unravel the rollers/ wrap (no blowing of roots is necessary with her) and go home.
On the way home I noticed my edges and nape weren't super straight and I was
In New York this morning is FOG CITY so I kept my wrap in until I arrived to work. VOILA!!!! I take the pins out and comb down and its super soft and fluffy and not pin straight and limp.
This is something I will definitely have to keep in my for the future! and with all this color it doesn't seem "dried out" I will most certaintly give an update later next week after the first wash
