I use 1 part ACV and 7 parts water.

For the most part its individualized. Experiment with different dilutions and see which one works for you best. For example, my hair prefers weaker mixtures (2 tablespoons in 2 cups of water). Be careful though, if you overshoot the vinegar portion your hair may end up tangly.

i prefer a 1:3 water:ACV mix. but like Honi said, that ACV will make your hair tangly. after i've detangled my hair and braided it up in 5 sections, THEN i do my rinse with the braids still in.

i'd recomment starting with a low concentration of ACV and increasing it next time if you're unsatisfied, rather than a high concentration that will cause dryness and tangles.

Half and half works for me but you do have to tweak it to get the result you want. Half and half loosens my curls. The stronger the straighter.

really, I did not know this. thanks for sharing this.

I guess I take information and run with it because all I heard was that I need to do a ACV rinse & I ran out to the store, went home and poured that thing straight on my hair (no diluting at all). I was proud of myself too like I really did something. I have done that a couple of times too before I ran across a thread where someone mentioned diluting it in distilled water. Ya'll pray for this gung ho newbie :nono:.

awww poor chickie... i hope it didn't sting your eyes... :look:

Before I joined LHCF I used ACV after reading somewhere it was good for your hair. I used a 1/4-1/2 cup undiluted and I have had varying experiences with it. One time I had major tangles another time none. I may have change up the order or other products I used with each wash. At any rate it did give me shine and silky body. I will start using again but I will try to find the diluted ratio that works for me. I have learned so much on this forum.
