Ok, so this week I've been contemplating whether or not transitioning is the move for me. But then I was like "Oh man! I don't my fellow LHCF sisters to think I'm a punk...LOL"

So I'm on the hunt for things to add to my reggie that will make my hair more manageable.

I've heard about ACV but really didn't see how it works, but all of my LHCF sisters can't be wrong. So I decided to give it a try. So here's what I did last night:
  • DC'd on dry hair with ORS Replenishing, EVOO and 2 other conditioners from Sally's I can't remember the name of :perplexed
  • Co-washed with Aussie Moist (the jury is still out on this condish, but I guess it did ok)
  • ACV final rinse with a color applicator bottle (1 oz. Bragg Organic ACV to 4 oz. water)
  • Plastic cap for 5 min while showering
  • Lacio Lacio (as leave in), Coconut Oil and MN mix
  • Rollerset on pink magnetics with Rollersetting Lotion mix (Aloe vera juice, water, EVOO, Castor Oil, Africa's Best Oil--my hair needs some oil and moisture)
  • Hooded Dryer for 90 minutes
  • Unrolled hair and applied Coconut Oil to ends
  • Re-rolled with satin foam rollers (can't sleep on magnetics)
  • Sleep
  • Style in the morning
Here are results....

Unfortunately I'm working today so I had to take these with my camera phone, so you may not be able to see the shine, but trust me it's there. My hair is super soft, shiny and swingy.

I know for a lot of LHCF sisters you can't use as much oil as I did, but my hair loved it. I shouldn't have to put anything in my hair til next wash day.

ACV will definitely be part of my reggie going forward!

Thanks for the compliments. I'm debating doing a clear rinse for some added shine in the next couple of weeks. But this ACV has made my hair feel relaxer new!!!!!

Your hair is a beauty but, i wish I could roller set mine. It's more of a job so I give up half way thru each time.

I love an ACV rinse too.

- Keep in mind that they have made some ladies hair get lighter.
- You might want to dilute a little more because you don't want it to be too acidic. I use about 1.5 oz. in the bottle in my siggy with the rest filled up with water.

Thanks for the advice. I thought about it last night that I might have put a bit too much in it this time. I will probably do .5 oz in the 5 oz. bottle.

I don't necessarily mind it lightening up a bit, I used to wear color. I just don't want to smell like vinegar...LOL

Oh I totally forgot two things I did!

I used the home steam method (I use this at least once a month). I also did the 15-10-10 method for Deep Conditioning. The hairline NG is much more manageable than usual.

So I think that may have made a difference as well.

Thanks for this post! I am sitting here now with pre-poo on my hair. I've also been contemplating doing an ACV rinse because Porosity Control was aweful for me :nono: . (As I understood it, they are suppose to perform the same function).

Your hair looks beautiful. I really hope to get great results as well.

It looks like you just walked out of the shop, girl! Very pretty!!!!

Did you put the MN on the length of your hair or your scalp?

Looks good. What exactly is the bolded?

total niceness (is that even a word).

I've always wanted to know how to use ACV. It's great that you know what works for your hair. Keep up the good work

Yes it is, girl. Definite staple of mine. Makes my hair feel smooth and look super shiny. And it neutralizes relaxers very well.
