Hey Ladies!!

Wow! It came out great! You know I want the details on the dominican salon in Tampa. Where did you go? How much? Did you have a hard time communicating or did they speak English?

Thanks even though I wasn't pleased. This was only my second time going to a DS the first being in NYC (which I loved and only paid $13). I just think she (didn't bother to get her name) was in a hurry and was trying to carry on a conversation with everyone while doing my hair :perplexed

She really pissed me off when she said my hair was too thin to hold any curl style  I've never heard of such a thing. If I do go back it won't be to sit in her chair (she's the one w/ blonde micro braids in the middle chair).

I went to Toque de clase located on Florida Avenue and they charged $25 for wash + set + blowout.

I didn't really have a hard time communicating with her..she asked basic questions like where I wanted the part in my hair..if I wanted the roots blown etc.

They sell alot of dominican products as well and on the wall I saw a flyer for a lady that has a booth in the Magic Mall (shopping plaza on waters + florida ave) and they sell the same products there also..may even be cheaper.
They do micros and sew-ins ((Shayla I know u were asking about sew-ins))

Keylargo hopefully your experience will be better :)

sorry to hear about your experience. I think it could have just been the stylist. maybe a different one will be better. I don't have the courage to go myself. My hair can't handle rough treatment and extra heat. I will however check out the booth at the Magic Mall plaza!!! Thanks for the tip. by the way, I picked up a jar of the famous Silicon Mix at the Teresita grocery we all went to. They had quite a few jars when I went. They also had the leave in but I just got the deep conditioner. It was $8.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing..If I go back it won't be to her. There are 2 other ladies in the shop that I may try. Shayla has heard nothing but good things about the DS salon in Brandon and I was thinking about also trying Areli Beauty Salon in Tampa. I'll let you know how that goes.

I wanna go to the Magic Mall just to look but I know I won't be able to just look  So I must wait till next week..lol

So have you used the Silicon Mix yet?? Wow the grocery store right by me and ONLY $8??? Thanks for the info! :D

I went to the Majic Mall but saw no signs of Dominican products. I was so disappointed. Maybe she's not there every weekend.
I used the Silicon Mix and it is nice. It detangles really well.

Awww really keylargo???? I'm sorry you went all the way over there only to be disappointed! The flyer in the shop said it was located in the magic mall on north FL ave and the door was #1. Maybe your right and she's not there all the time. I really should have wrote down the ladies phone number.

Ok I'm convinced I'll have to try the infamous Silicon mix
