Hello, to answer your question, I would suggest a sewn in weave not glue. If you have the sewn in weave, you do have to spend some dough to get it put in, but you can basically leave it in for 3 months ( you might have to get it tightened) and it can still be maintained like your normal hair, meaning you can get it washed and styled by your beautician. You also can still spray activator on the "braids" to moisturize. You can not do that if you do the glue weave.
Personally, I had great success when I did the sewn in weave. Not only did my hair grow but it got extrememly strong. Since it is so hot here in Dallas, I am thinking about doing the sewn in thing this summer.
Please make sure to Maintain your sewn in as if your hair were out. It is easy to neglect your real hair when you wear weave and that causes breakage. Although it is expensive, I would not suggest wearing weave longer than 2mths straight (unless you get it tightened).
A friend of mine mentioned crochet braiding that looks like lose hair (weave not braids). Anyone know anything about crochet braiding?...I havent heard much about it since it was a fad a few years back.
I would say DEFINITELY leave the edges out. You really should try not to put any tension on them if you can help it. The last several weaves/braids I've had I made sure the my edges were left out and if they looked fuzzy I grab some gel or moisturizer and tie them suckas down.
If your hair is thinning, I would suggest a wig..there are kinds now with combs that you dont have to take off...from my experience weave just makes fragile hair more fragile..

Hi Luvhair!
I've also been thinking about getting a weave this summer.
Just a question though...is a weave hot in the summer?

Once upon a time I had a weave one summer. I vowed to never, ever weave again during the summer months. Because of the heat and humidity my scalp sweated like crazy and it itched like there were bugs running through my scalp.
