A question for bun wearers

What do you use to make your buns?

I just use a sock .. since my hair is not yet long enogh to put in a bun by it self

I usually don't use anything to make the bun bigger. I just put hair into a ponytail w/ cut pantyhose and then use the bobby pins that are shaped like a v to secure it. If I want it to look bigger, I'll use a thick black scrunchie to secure the ponytail.

I use a sock bun. When I first started a year ago, my sock bun only had one measly nylon sock in it and I still had trouble fanning my hair around that lil 'ol thing. So I stopped wearing it for about 7 or 8 months. I picked it up sometime last week just to see how it would look on my hair, and OMG my hair devoured that lil thing. So I added sock after sock after sock until it was big enough to fit my longer ponytail. I ended up adding 3 black nylon socks and one HUGE gym sock! And my hair is still too long for it and this thing is bigger than any doughnut.

I just use my own hair and some hair pins. A few years ago when my hair was shoulder length I would use two scrunchies to put my hair in a ponytail and then wrap the length around it and secure with either another scrunchy or some hair pins.

I use my own hair and some Good Days Hair Pins (they're plastic).

When my hair was shorter, I used a tube sock (cut the toe section out and roll it into a 'donut'). It would make the neatest bun.

I love braided buns. I make a low, loose braid (plait) of my own hair down the back, tuck it under and pin it with one or two Good Hair Days pins. Then I may put a scrunchie over it, or tie a silk ribbon (I have an example in my pic below) around it. Sometimes I'll place it low on the side.

I use the tube sock (old lol i ain't wasting good socks) with one leg of satiny panty hose (I use black but I'd imagine you could do browns or etc, pending on your hair color). It makes the bun come out looking really nice and full.
