Hey Everyone, I have been lurking aroung LHCF for almost a month now and i decided not to be cheap anymore and just pay the dang money! lol. And i have to say im loving it... I recently decided to go natural and just came across this site and have been reading some really great advice..

A lil about Miss Stuborn and Sassy ( thats what i named my hair - dont ask why) From what i remember as kid I have very thick 4a and 4b hair... Combs and brushes used to run and hide from me for fear of breaking in half or loosing some teeth.... My mom ( god bless her) couldn't do my hair to save her life. She used to bribe my cousin or my bf's sis to wash and comb my hair. You need to see my school pics from pre-K thru 3rd grade...there were mini puffs everywhere! lol. So because of that she permed my hair at a young age... I think from nine or so...a shame isn't it...

My hair always grew fast but for the last 6 or so months, my permed hair is so dang dry, im not retaining length and I really am missing my own texture... I let my son's hair grow this winter and i LOVE playing in his hair...

Anywho...Right now Im in kinky twists and will be taking them out next weekend... LHCF has already made me a PJ (ha.. learned what that meant from here) as i have already went out and bought some stuff i read about.. I would love some advice from any transitioning or natural woman to help me on my journey... TIA!!

Me, Deaf :newbie: too, time for me to join now.. because I have enojoyed to look at many beautiful ladies with long hairs here since few years. I decided to join in with two nice LHCF ladies's help last few months ago, but I am still shy to come down here. Just let you know I kinda shy and deaf haitian and living in MD. *smile*... Honstly, I have a little concern with my hair.. and had big chop my hair as boyish in 2005 which I had SL... I expected my hair to grow to SL to APL, :wallbash: but not, I kept BC for few years. I finally decided to get OCT, MT, Garlic conditioner, (using MT then OCT only) when I have read LHCF, learn alot of things here and love your beautiful hair. I wonder abt Garlic Conditioner, and am afraid to use it with OCT or MT shampoos, I have alot of sheddings more than 50 every day. Can I put Garlic Condtioner after or before mt or oct shampoo or what?.. Ladies, I have read LHCF tips and product information abt MT, OCT, and GC.. but I embarrasedly have a little problem with understanding this reading, I need your :feedback:
Many thanks! and looking forward!

DSL,

Thanks you guys... since i am taking out my braids next weekend, does any one have any advice so i can start off right? (BTW, i have had them in for about 3 weeks)

Hi, welcome! I used to live in Charlotte.

Congratulations on your decision to transition your hair! How are you currently moisturizing your twists?

If you have a spray bottle, you can try a water\glycerin\rosewater mix. Mist your twists well (start now), this should help with the take down process. You can purchase glycerin and rosewater (or aloe vera juice) from Whole Foods. You can also search the site for glycerin mixes.

Treat "Miss Stuborn and Sassy" to a luscious deep condition when you're done.

HTH
