Since I dont have a hooded dryer right now and alot of deep conditioning treatments call for heat....how about I heat up the conditioner before i put it on my head???

Or you could put a towel in the microwave for like 3-5 mins.(make sure to keep an eye on it so that you dont burn the towel)then wrap it around your head....works for me.

Been there, do that!

Also, (if we're going for ghetto), I'll use a beanie over my plastic cap (I can't go outside w/a plastic cap on). My mom and I came up w/this idea after a news report on keeping warm and different types of head gear. The test included taking cans of hot soup, sitting them in the snow and putting different types of caps over them and then watching the heat through an infrared or heat detecting type of device to see how quickly the heat dissipated. The can w/the beanie stayed warm for 3 HOURS!!

If it's a conditioner with protein in it--I would think that heating the conditioner up would denature the protein before it ever got a chance to help your hair.

I tried the microwaving the towel thingy...and I can be pretty idiotic at times..the towel ended up burning, hahaha..will be a little wiser and try the dryer next time

I love heating up my moisturizing conditioners prior to applying it to my hair.

hmmm....I was thinking the same thing....

Happylocks, If you're doing the hot towel thing, make sure that it's WET before you put it in the microwave. The water is what will heat up (the material just holds it).

About the conditioners, I love warming them. This is one of Peachtree's great ideas.

Anyway, I usually only put it in the microwave for about 30-45 seconds.
