I think I want to get a blonde chunk in my hair for a funkier look without dyeing all of my hair... I really like the streak behind the ear look but i've only seen girls with straight hair do this so it may look silly on me... otherwise I was thinking of doing one right in the front by my part (kinda like stacy london's grey streak)... be honest will this look silly on my natural hair?

ps... since i'm growing my bangs out they don't look like my fotki pics any more... I "part" my hair on the right & have cheekbone length(unstretced) 80s bangs to the side

Thats sounds cute! I'd get a piece sewed in the front, the way u were describing.Sine your hair is natural maybe you could find "kinky/curly" textured hair. I know PLENTY of stylist who have pieces at the salon so if u dont wana buy a pack, they just whip it out. I was born with 2 but they're not in the front:ohwell:.

^^^ that sounds like a good idea! I didn't think of that...

here's a pic of how my bangs look these days(sorry don't have my digicam atm)... this is kesh... she is an indie designer/dj... and my hair twin

ETA: sorry i didn't realize this guy was flippin off the camera!

Oh ok yea if your hair is parted off like hers, I'd put the piece in alignment where her nose is, close to her left eye. This way. you can blend the hair closest to the part so the tracks are not showing, and to tone it down a bit. However you do it, im sure it will be cute! U know u beta post some pics!

You're just getting a blonde streak right? My friend did hers herself and it turned out to look a mess. She looked like a skunk. You need to go to somebody who specializes in curly hair. When I got my highlights done, he put the color on my hair where it clumped naturally. He said he did it that way so that it would look like individual curls were painted when it was curly. And then it would look like regular streaks when it was straight. If the color isn't done right, it won't look right on your curls. It'll be broken up or look like patches. Or on fros it'll look like polka dots.

i think something like that would be too cute! something kelis might pull off. do you want a "chunk", like a whole section of hair blonde, or just a thick streak?

i'm gonna do that to my hair once i hit APL, give me a little gray streak somewhere to make me look dignified

Please consider a clip on. The process to get blond hair is so damaging. Your hair is beautiful, please do not color your hair. No one that I know of natural or relaxed have had success with blond streaks, they have all broken off even though they think it grew out. Um if blond grows out the streak does not shrink your hair would just get longer with a blond tip. PLEASE PLEASE use a clip on.

poookie- yea i want more of a thick streak... I don't wanna look skunky...

Where can I find a blonde clip on that matches my texture? I don't have a credit card so I can't really order...

Otherwise how should I go about dyeing it? I mean should I use protein/moisture? when/how? I'm sure I'll have to double process... I really don't wanna pay for sumone to do it because a) I don't trust hairdressers(esp in Mississippi) with my hair because it's natural and b) i might be tempted to do sumthing more when I get in that chair! Its just one piece of hair anyway
