Well I relaxed my hair yesterday about 3 years of being natural. I used a mild, put a bit of oil, conditioner and silk amino acids. That took away about half of the bulk of my hair, however that is STILL too much hair and it takes too much time to do my hair. But if I had straighten my hair anymore, it would just have been bone straight which is even more damaging. Since this was my first time doing a relaxer, I guess I didn't know what to expect. I'm just a bit sad. I guess I should be glad that I didn't over process.:ohwell:

Well, at least it took SOME of the bulk away. That should make it a littl bit easier to do your hair :)

Do you think it will grow on you? You can always do a corrective in 8 weeks. Use a mild, but don't add so many things to it

The main issue is that I don't know what to do. I will only be happy if I can get it bone straight. But apparently if I try to do this ( especially since I have NO experience doing relaxers, and refuse to let someone else do it) then it could become over processed and have that flat look. I'm between a rock and a hard place. I guess I have no choice but to let it grow me. I'll attempt to flat iron it tomorrow ...hahahaha! yeah right.

I don't mean to sound critical, but adding oil, AA, and conditioner to a mild relaxer is going to prevent it from coming out bone straight. Also bone straight is kind of a myth, I've never had a relaxer where my hair dried straight without being blow dried and flat ironed first. Hopefully, it'll grow on you and you'll love it. Hugs to you!!!

I didn't want it bone straight because of the damage that may occur, but I wished I could have been able to do it bone straight.

If you want it more straight, definitely use regular strength next time.

I've read great things about Linange relaxer, how it gets your hair straight, but not bone straight. I use Vitale Life & Body and I really like it. My hair still has texture, not flat at all :)
