Hello Ladies!

I just had to share this one. I found a better way to Co-Wash. I'm sure this way may not be new to all but it worked for me and I hope it can help others.

Its really simple: I applied Super 10 en 1 (any condish will do I'm sure) like I would a relaxer (to dry hair), parting my hair into 4's and then applying the condition into a hand full of hair making sure to saturate each section.

I realized that I was not full conditioning my hair and the back was really suffering b/c of this. This way allowed me to condition ALL of my hair not just the front, sides and back.

After applying I put a plastic cap over my hair and then wrapped my head in a towel and let it sit over night.

The next day I washed it out and let it air-dry in a bun.

When my hair was dry is was FULL. I use to have very fine hair, not any more thanks to LHCF! But after this my hair was so thick I could believe it. I had a lot less breakage after this was well (a whole lost less!!!!!).

Oooh, thanks! I'm gonna have to do this the next time I co wash!

I will definitely try this too. It is a good idea. Some people on the board wash their hair in braids. I never heard of co washing in braids.

Great thread! And yes, you're right, the conditioner doesn't get to all the hair the other way. I did this the other day too, and I found that it made a HUGE difference!!! I did the same method when i pre-poo too.

Great tip -:) - I also wory that I missing the strands in the middle of my head when apply product!

I will do this after I shampoo, thought about it b4 but was too lazy to go through with it. Thanks for reminding me!

This definitely works for me. JenniferMD suggested doing this in her fotki. So I started doing this on Friday nights with one of my Dominican cond, cover it with a plastic cap and scarf. The next day when I poo, my hair and ng and extra soft. I think this is what helped me to do my first 12 wk stretch.

This has been working for me too...im kinda OCD about the conditioner reaching each strand. You use more conditioner but at least you know it was affective

Ditto! I actually experimented with different ways to CW to find the best method for my hair and the dry-method works best for my dry ends. Good for you for opening this topic for discussion.

I also read somewhere that to condition your hair while wet doesn't allow your hair to absorb as much conditioner since the water molecules are absorbed into the cuticle instead of the conditioner.

It's like the simpliest things that can be really effective that I never think about. :lachen: Thanks girl. I'll do this when I take out my cornrows.

This is what I do as well. My hair loves this!!!!!!!! I have some ORS Mayo in now. Get outta my head.

:lachen: :lachen: :lachen:

B/c of the thickness I got I may start washing 2x week instead of weekly washing.

MonaRae!

That's the way I do mine, and my hair loves it also. If I'm not leaving the cond. on over night, then I'll just put the heating cap on for about 45 min and leave the cond on for another hour or so without heat before rinsing it out.
