I won't be watching the video as that is just a bit too much for me, I'm disgusted and sickened that people can do this. It's likely that the baby still has her fontanelle (ie scull is not closed) for crying out loud!

What the hell kinda baby sister relaxes somebody elses childs head???? At 9 months old at that! I woulda wooped her @$$ across town too quick. But you can already tell that didn't happen because its apparent this mother doesnt care too much about whats going on with her child. (i.e. relaxer at young age, repeated relaxers afterwards, hair rubbed down to the scalp, and not caring that her young child is on a public video for all to see, then her dumb @$$ is all in the video too and doesnt say two things) SMDH at stupid mo-fos SMDH REALLY ****** HARD...

First i hope this was a joke, i mean come on no on in their right mind would do this on a 9 month old would they? Also, all that breakage in the back of the poor baby's head indicates to me that this child has been laid back in a car seat, infant seat or chair all the time, cause the entire back of her hair looks broken off. So some lazy parent is not taking this child out her chair, just letting her sit for long periods of time. This is outrageous.

While I don't disagree that what you've stated is a possibility, I didn't come to that conclusion when I saw the back of that poor baby's head. It could be the case that her hair, much like my own, is composed of finer strands in the back and cannot withstand the chemicals; especially when combined with a severe lack of moisture and sleeping on cotton pillow cases/sheets.

At any rate, I hope the baby is doing better now and her scalp hasn't been damaged irreparably. It is really unfortunate that in this country, any idiot with $5 or so can make a trip to the local BSS or drugstore and purchase caustic chemicals to slather all over a little baby's head. :nono:

Thanks for sharing OP. The theory is that when people know better, they'll do better. In this case, I really hope that's true. :ohwell:

ETA: I don't really think they should have shown the girl's face on camera, not to mention the fact that they said her name!

I watched this video months ago. I can't even imagine why someone would think putting a relaxer on a baby's hair is a good idea. Like where is the common sense in that? I hope the ytuber educated everyone involved.

I won't watch the video and I hope they take it down soon.
Just the idea of it pisses me off.
My Dd is 9 months old and I can't fathom putting chemicals anywhere near her at this age. Unbeleivable!!

Isn't the baby's skull still developing at 9 months? How long does it take for the soft spot to completely close?

Lots of children also have hair that just grows that way. As a baby my hair grew out on top first and then the sides and back filled in a little later. So she probably barely had any hair grown in at all before the little bit in the back was permed unnecessarily. Most of it probably just sat directly on her scalp.

I feel sad to say this, but I'd bet everything I own that there HAS been irreparable damage done and its too late, especially considering that her ignoramus "mother" will probably continue to pile on the chemicals. :nono: The baby's skull isn't even fully formed yet, and if there isn't possible brain damage from this, her hair follicles are surely going to be burned and traumatized. The baby's system can't even tolerate eating honey, what makes them think she can withstand a relaxer?

Yep, they are so serious. My mom had me about the same time her friend had a baby girl. My mom tells the story of how this woman permed the baby's hair  so it would look straight. Guess that lady's mad now, because both her kids went natural and have LOCS!! :afropick: :lachen::lachen:

I watched this last year too, If someone was to relax my child's hair without my permission. There would be hell to pay :bat: :catfight:

Excellent point!

I think our outrage is more of a moral issue than a legal one. There is no law forbidding relaxers on anyone under a certain age. The manufactors may advise against it but ultimately it's up to the parents. Smoking around babies/. children is morally wrong to some people but it happens everyday.
