If a 4b has no curl pattern, how would texturizing loosen the 'curl's to have a softer curl pattern?

Just wondering

Texlaxing, if that's what you mean, loosens my kinks. I don't know about "texturizing", if that's any different.

It'll make the kinks look looser. Like a man getting a S Curl put in his hair. That's one type of texturizer.

If you don't have a curl pattern you will only get straight hair because there is no curl pattern to loosen. :)

Heck I don't even know my hair type except its like Countrygal's b4 texturizing which is loads of tiny curls but no kinks.

How is you hair? I actually have the book (Andre Walker) that a majority of us base our hair typing from on here. This is a quote:

"There are two subtypes of Type 4 hair: Type 4 a. tightly coiled hair that, when stretched, has an "S" pattern, much like curly hair; and Type B, which has a "Z" pattern, less of a defined curl pattern (instead of curling or coiling, the hair bends in sharp angles like the letter "Z"). Type 4A tends to have moisture than Type 4B, which have a wiry texture."

He later says (which I am sure There are some that think other wise- Don't shoot me, get him)

p. 98 "Type 4B hair with a "Z" pattern, generally doesn't respond well to texturizing: the hair relaxes into frizz rather than curls."

HTH. I have primarily 4A with maybe just a little bit of 4a along the temples. My mother of the other hand has 4B and her hair definitely has that z pattern and reactly totally different from mine when texturized. It loosens but it doesn't have the same curl pattern.
