I found the PERFECT cure. Here's some background to my hair so you know how dry I'm talking about. Back in the day my "friends" would call me brillo pad...nice huh??? /images/graemlins/mad.gif I would give it 4-4.5 back then in terms of softness(maybe even less). This was before I went natural. After having been natural for almost 5 years and then texturizing 10 weeks ago my hair is softer than it's ever been BUT it's still not SOFT (some of you know what I'm talking about). Well, thanks to proper care and healthy hair AND humecto my hair got even softer to touch....give it 7(and that's without adding any products to my hair...just conditioning with humecto). WELLLLLLL, last night I decided to spray in some unbraid spray (my roots are over 1" in length) and then I thought why not apply some castor oil (look at Sherry's hair /images/graemlins/wink.gif).....weeeeeelll...I give my hair now 9-9.5 in terms of softness. I cannot stop touching my hair. I LOVEEEEEEE this combo and will stick to this for good. Finally something that works for me. I give it /images/graemlins/up.gif /images/graemlins/up.gif /images/graemlins/up.gif /images/graemlins/up.gif /images/graemlins/up.gif /images/graemlins/up.gif /images/graemlins/up.gif /images/graemlins/up.gif /images/graemlins/up.gif

*Note....the unbraid spray cannot be used if you're wearing your hair down. You may be able to use a very little at the roots but not the strands....

Edited to add: I also don't use HEAT ANYMORE.....

Unbraid spray is by Better Braids. It's to assist in unbraiding your hair...it's GREAT. I used to use it to get my braids out BUT didn't think to use it regularly until Diva clued me in /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I haven't used the take down spray, but I love their scalp cleanse for in between washings.

I love castor oil too but I have to put it on very very lightly or it will way my hair down. It makes my hair so soft for days!

Castor oil is one of the ingredients in Atlien's mix, so I know what you're talking about, I use it just about every day, before I tie my hair up at night, then when I get up in the morning new growth feels so good.

I keep hearing about Atlien's mix. What is it?How does she use it?

it includes castor oil, coconut oil, wildgrowth hair oil, Atlien used this concotion on her scalp and within a month it grew 2 inches i think.

Oh yeah, it just needed the moisture. I only used the anti-snap a few times so I don't think that was it. Since I bumped up on my washing (2x/week) and started using a conditioner that my hair LOVED (humecto) and combing in the shower. My breakage has cut down to about 3-4/week(down from 11-13/week). Big difference. And since I started the baggie method my ends aren't "chipping" anymore. Thanks for asking.

I was thinking of adding some castor oil to my WGO ....I'll do it now. I'm not too crazy about coconut oil though..leaves my hair a little dry.

Faith, that's great i'm happy to hear that you solved breakage issues, oh and about coconut oil it dries my hair too when used alone, its great to use in Altien's oil concoction though.
