I am going to wash my hair tomorrow and would like to know your air drying time loose with minimal products (just a watery leave in). Please state your hair length so I get a rough Idea of what im dealing with... Thank you

Hi: My hair is shoulder length 4a/b and it take about 2.5 hours to air dry and 45mins-1 hour for a roller set under a ceramic dryer (closer to an hour when I need a touch-up) hope this helps! happy hair!

I think thickness would be a factor too Lonei...and I'm 3c but if I go OUTSIDE and there's some sun and a breeze blowing I can be airdried completely inside of 2 hours. If I stay in it takes more like 4 hours. My hair is medium thickness and on the thinner side if freshly relaxed.

mine is shoulder length and if its in a ponytail or plaits, it still wont be completly dry overnight, but if I start drying in a ponytail and then let it loose, it will dry in 2 or 3 hours.

I find it frizzes more unless I apply a little oil or moisturizer periodically (every 30 minutes or so) as it dries. I definitely have to use more product if I air dry unless I plan to flat iron which isnt often. Im pretty happy with the results.

I can count on one hand the # of times Ive blow dried my hair in the past year. I did it once recently and all the little hairs I saw everywhere turned me off from it, probably for good unless its an absolute emergency!! Like my hair is wet and I suddenly HAVE to go somewhere and look presentable.

I can never dry my hair without products or just a watery leave-in because my hair is so fine . I need products to weigh down my hair so it won't frizz up. It takes me about 2 hours for my hair to airdry if it's loose and 4 if it's in a ponytail. But there's a big difference because your hair is beautifully long and mine is only shoulder length.

Just past shoulders 4b, thick, relaxed and use either nexxus headdress or giovanni direct leave in - my air drying times are:

rollersets: 7 hours
loose: 4 hours

Your hair is beautiful too, you'll reach my length in no time.

Thank you for your responses.

I plan to add Jojoba oil when its semi dry as opposed to soaking wet, what have been your experiences in adding oils to semi dry hair?

My hair is almost bra strap, 4a & b mix and thick, thick! If I air dry in a bun my hair takes well over 24 hours to dry. If I dry in a ponytail the outside and ends dries in a few hours but the inside (near my scalp) takes about 24 hours.

I'm a 4a with a lil past bra strap - it takes about 6 or 7 hours to dry hanging straight and in braids about 36 hours

i dont know exactly how long my hair is because of shrinkage.. but including the shrinkage it is a little past shoulder length.

if i let my hair air dry in just two ponytails it takes more than a day to dry. but if i put it in rollers, usually between 2-10 hours (depending on type of rollers).
