WOW, I did it...The last pic my hair looks like it's getting fuller. Don't know what that's about!

Your hair looks sooo soft. Is it blow dried? Are you a natural 4a? I'm trying to find products (moisturizers) to keep my hair moist and soft. My hair is really frustrating because it's sooo dry. I try cowashing regularly, but as soon as it dries..my hair is hard again.

No my hair isn't blow dried here. In the February pic it was dry and just combed out. The August pic my hair was wet and had just been detangled(combed through). No product, it's just wet, but the excess water had been squeezed out, not wrung out. I'm a natural 4a/b and I wet my hair daily and seal with coconut oil or raw shea butter. I use aloe/distilled water/glycerin as my staple moisturizer. Coconut oil is my staple for oils but I do use a variety of oils depending on my mood. I consider my "hair mood" is my hair telling what it's hungry for :lick:.

Thanks! And you're right. I thought that idea was sort of anal and crazy at first, but I'm a believer now! Just water a little castile every now and then...wow!

Thanks! Last question..do you find that the coconut oil/shea butter leaves your hair greasy or weighed down? I don't know if I'm maybe applying to much, but regardless that still doesn't help It's giving me hope. Thanks!

I LOVE your hair. how long have you been growing your hair and what was your starting length?

Thank you. My starting length was a bit past my shoulders and I believe I have been growing it out (with a few setbacks :spinning:) since October of '06.

16 months to grow out and dust out all the bone straight hair and get my fullness back. Notice how long the distance from the top of my head to my armpit. I am 5' 10.5" and have a really long neck. On another body I'd be BSL easy I think! This is my year for solid growth! The second picture is air-dried.
