I am about to enter a Master's program to become a certified teacher. Somehow, I feel like I missed my calling as a cosmetologist. I have already racked up a CONSIDERABLE amount of student loans as an undergrad. I live on campus at my current school and moving would be an expense, I can't see being able to afford right now. The Master's program is full-time and meets during the day. I could swing evening classes in beauty school but I don't know how I would pay for it.

Any suggestions?

some schools offer scholarships. depending on your location and background (read: New York) you MAY find some schools or salons that will offer financial assistance.

I wish you all the best!

ETA: sorry i just read the subject line again. I personally havent gone through cosmetology school, but i see it somewhere in my future. I hope you still find the advice useful tho :D

I lucked up, I did it in high school, just in case I got the urge later in life. They do offer scholarships though.

Im going back to cosmetology school. Empire Beauty is about 20k, they do financial aid, so Im just tacking this on to the student loan debt I already owe the gov.:look:

I'm actually on the flip side of this; I'm a cosmetologist, but now pursuring a Master's.

I did it during my senior year in high school, so my parents only had to pay for the kit.
I know that doesn't help:ohwell:
But I agree with the above; there certainly should be scholarships and financial aid available.
One thing's for sure, you won't be out of as much money going to school for cosmo. as you will getting a Master's!
Good luck in your decision.:yep:
