Do to laziness and being on this board. I have not applied any type of heat on my head, and I havent gotten a perm and it seems like I can go many more weeks by the loook of it.

I have been conditioning and hot oil treamenting my hair so the roots dont loook tuff like before I can tell my hair has grown and I need a perm[usually would have been gottne one if I was goin for the relaxed look, but I am good for now.

I went on strike against heat for one year and I grew and retained about 6 inches of full, thick, relaxed hair!

I just washed, put in some activator, and wore it in a bun!

I even re-touched my hair myself by adding cholesterol (sp) from the ends all the way up as close to the new growth as possible and then re-touching only the new growth. This was kind of an unorthodox way to prevent overlap but I can't argue with success!

I am now texturized (after being natural for 2+years) and I am going to repeat this method but this time wearing braids for about 2 months at a time and condition, condition, condtion; oil, oil, oil

I find that conditioning washes help keep my hair soft and I've read on naturallycurly.com where a permy condition washes and her new growth is softer.

Just something to consider
