I did this with micros. The first 6 -7 weeks I would wear them down. Then I would "redo" the edges all around and wear it up in a ponytail the rest of the time.To keep it fresh I would flat iron them,or curl them with rods. After my 9 week mark I took out the front, slicked it down with Fantasia gel and wore a cute little headband.
From past experience the more that I washed the braids the worse my hair was when I took them down.
It can be done if you touch up random braids here and there depending on how you style them.Just make sure not to leave your edges the same for 3 months.
I always do it...I am in them now, it will be 6 weeks this weekend and I will be getting my edges redone. Keeping them up another 6 weeks b/c my friend said she wont help me take them down unless I leave then in more than 2 1/2 months. I spray my braids with braid spray every day or every other and I also spary Infu.23 on them every other, I was also using Surge 14 for the 1st month but now I wanna change it up, may start using MN after I get my edges redone.
yup. This time around I got my braids done Oct 1st and kept them in til nov 4. Then I just re-did the perimeter, that night. However, in between that time, about 3 weeks past, I did a full washing in big braids, air dried overnight, then oiled down with Vatika oil and profectiv growth oil. Then I used my chi iron to flatten down the frizz and then stocking capped it. They looked freshly done and I got compliments. So I think the 6 week mark is the most you can go before needing a retouch at least to the perimeter area. This is my opinion being in braids these 6 years.
