(1) What is your hair care regimen?
I wash and condition my hair once a week using paul mitchell super skinny shampoo or instant moisture shampoo. I condition my hair for 5 min. with motions cpr (for strength) , rinse and condition with paul mitchell supercharged moisturizer for another 5 min. (for moisture) and rinse. Following that, I usually roller-set my hair with paul mitchel smoothing serum and foaming pomade and sometimes blow-dry and flat-iron to smoothen my hair. For no-heat styles I usually start out with a freshly roller-set hair because of the thickness of my hair, and begin to braid my hair into 6-8 sections the night before to create a braid-out, which is a low maintenance style that dries in loose waves. My hair is texturized and needs additional tools to achieve the desired straightness. I also use the affirm lye relaxer every 8-10 weeks
(2) Do you take any supplements? If so, what are they?
I don't take any supplements at the moment, the only ones that I can think of is having scrambled eggs every morning (protein intake) and drinking plenty of water during the day.
(3) Currently, how long is your hair and what is your hair type?
My hair is in layers so they are at various lengths. the longest layer touches the top of my camisole, second longest is just past the shoulders and the shortest layer just below the jaw line. My hair type is 4a and it's also multi textured. Most strands fall in a S pattern. The crown is the coarsest, the bottom half is fine textured, and the top is almost straight but coarse. But overal my hair is 4a. The reason why I know this is because I went natural a couple of years ago and it allowed me to get familiar with my true hair texture. Knowing this guides me in relaxing and I know to always start relaxing the crown first because it is the most resistant.
(4) What are the things that you feel have helped you the most inachieving and maintaining your hair length?
Roller-setting my hair, washing and conditioning once a week and protein shakes have helped me grow out my hair. Also having patience and taking progress pictures helps me through out my journey. Low maintenance styles where the hair is not manipulated too much such as buns, and braid-outs (and sleeping in satin bonnets/pillow case), help to accumulate length faster especially when no heat is involved. Taking hair care into my own hands has also helped tremendously and not having to rely on stylists can save you money and your hair

(1) What is your hair care regimen?
I wash a minimum of twice a week with shampoo. I also rinse wth distilled water or cw every other day if I am wearing protective styles. I deep condition at least once a week with heat. For my hair to be at its healthiest I have to maintain a balance between protein and moisture. One week I deep condition with protein, the next I use an intensive moisturizing conditioner. I usually air dry in a bun. If I'm wearing my hair down I rollerset and dry under a hood dryer then wrap. I moisturize daily, except the first two weeks after a relaxer when I moisturize twice daily. I relax every 10 - 12 weeks with a lye relaxer and trim only when needed. I give my hair a break every year for one relaxer cycle (10-12 weeks) by wearing braids or cornrows.
(2) Do you take any supplements? If so, what are they?
Daily I take 1/2 tsp of MSM powder in water, 5 mg of biotin, 500 mg of evening primrose oil, 1000 mg of flax seed oil, 1 super b complex tablet and a multi vitamin. MSM has curbed my shedding issues, epo and flax seed oil has helped with my scalp psoriasis issues..
(3) Currently, how long is your hair and what is your hair type?
Currently my hair is 24 inches long from hairline to ends. My ultimate goal is mid back, I have 3 more inches to go. From looking at my pre relaxer pics my natural hair is 4a mixed with some 4b areas.
(4) What are the things that you feel have helped you the most inachieving and maintaining your hair length?
I have found that relaxing every 10 - 12 weeks, supplements and frequent washing has boosted my hair growth. Protective styling, daily moisturizing and minimal heat has helped me retain length. LCHF helped me develop a regimen and find products that work for my hair. Thank you ladies for helping me reach my hair goals!
