I just came back from Boots and bought 2 30g tubes for £3.47 each. Superdrug charges £4.99 for the same tube.

Be sure to ask for the 30g tube of Daktarin from behind the counter they usually have the 15g on show behind the counter, if you don't ask for the 30g they'll sell you the itty 15g size.

thanks! i got a 15oz tube from 'vantage' for £3.30 ill be buying it from Boots in future! hows your progress so far? iv been using it since last week tuesday iv only noticed a small amount of growth but hopefully ill see more this time next week.

Its the Miconazole Nitrate everyones been yapping about.

Ladies I'm not too sure about putting fanny cream (I cant help thinking of it like that) on my head but I want enough hair for my BC next year  is it any good???

LOLOL i think its worth it- as i said i do see some growth... n i just see it as anti-fungal cream cuz dats wot it is! HAHA

hmm I gotta go to the "town centre" (damn i hate not being in london) tomorrow I'm gonna try it, is it better than mtg? I didnt try that because it's for horses and that IS one step too far.

How do u apply it? I'm currently co washing every other day, do I put it on the roots? is it before or after I wash?????

Well I'm sure some of y'all eat yoghurt, it's just a good as cure for an itchy minge. Natural yoghurt is recommended for thrush to clear it up. You can use Vinegar to clean your food and clean the kitchen, cayenne pepper to season food and as a weapon in the form of spray..it's just one of those all in one products.

It's the active ingredient the 2% MN which is the hair grower, it just happens to be an ingredient use for many a thing, athletes foot included. It's just an anti fungal medicine.

Well I think so far so good, I was using it inconsistently for a few weeks and did a touch up a few days ago after 5 weeks, which I haven't done in years. I'm on a 30 day Nioxin Vitamin and MN challenge and will be charting the progress in my album. It's only Day 3 since the touch up but I'm looking forward to the end of the 30 days to see what growth I get.

Hi Londondiva, I bought 30g Daktarin in Boots today also. I've been using it for three weeks and i've already seen a lot of growth. I'd say about twice as much as I usualy have. I normaly get a touch up at 8wks but at this rate I doubt I'll last that long. This stuff is GOOOOOOD! So far anyway, we'll see.

For all those skeptical of using MN on their scalp. In my opinion, Daktarin is the safest bet.

Quoting from the leaflet that came in the package

What is your medicine used for?
Daktarin cream is used to treat infections of the skin which may appear on the hands, feet, out ear, trunk, groin or SCALP :D . It is used to treat infected nappy rash and infections of nails.

Daktarin works by destroying the fungus that causes the infection and some of the bacteria which may also be present.

Isnt daktarin used for athletes foot???? i know my brother has a tube of it someplace he hasnt used...its the box with a blue footprint on right you guys?

ETA
just found this on another site:
Indications
For the treatment and prevention of athlete's foot.
Directions
Adults and children: apply cream twice daily for up to 10 days after all signs of infection have disappeared.
Ingredients
Cream containing: Miconazole nitrate 2%.
Warnings
Do not allow to enter eyes, nose or other body orifices. Do not use on hair, nails or broken skin.

The one to get is the first one, with straight MN. The second two, especially the last one have different active ingredients as obviously the second is for oral use and the third is a different formula. What one was the warning refering to?

I've just read my little leaflet (that was in the box) and it says that the it is for treating, hands, feets, outer ears, trunk, groin or scalp. So it's def. safe

Mines the first one, just plain daktarin, not gold, not athletes foot not oral, just plain

Ok I'm in town now, and I just got some, I asked the pharmacist and she said that it shouldn't be used any longer than a month at a time, and it should be applied about 2x daily

i dont think it will fall out if it says you can use it on the scalp. someone else said that the doc' told a young boy to use it on his scaple to growth back his bold patches and it work-out fine for him.
