Do you ladies have any suggestions for taking care of a 10 month old's hair. It's long in the top, but the sides are still thin. She lost most of her sides and back when she was younger. It's growing in slowly.
When she was younger? She is only 10 months!! Do you mean 10 years? If she's 10 months, just let it grow. Keep it moisturized, but you shouldn't be doing tooo much!
AJW, babies tend to lose their hair until they are able to sit up on their own. My son is currently sporting the only mohawk /images/graemlins/rofl.gif
They lose their hair from rubbing their heads all day, but take heart. It grows back. My neice didn't have hair until she was bout 18 months.
low manipulation...no big a** beads, barrets and no friggin rubber bands(if ya gotta..loose ones please)...let the baby enjoy 10 mths old lol...i like the afro look on babies myself
Get our of my head, I've already told my SO that I'm making lil satin pillows and sheets for our babies, to see if they can not get the no hair on back/sides look, although honestly, I never got that I don't know what my mother did to my hair as a baby though.

I wonder would baby satin or silk sheets help. Hmmmmmm.....
You all have seen the pictures of my daughter. Believe it or not, I attribute her not losing her hair to my not doing a daggone thing to it. No braids, nothing but cloth barrettes or a headband occasionally. I washed it and put olive oil on it and it was so silky that I didn't even comb or brush it. It never got tangled.
I took a page from my mother's book. She let me wear an afro until it started to flop. I did the same thing. Wash and wear. It's natural hair.
ETA: Add to that my fear of her taking stuff out of her head and putting it in her mouth. That kept everything to a minimum automatically. Even when I did start to style it, I never used those ball thingies with the metal clasp and I never put barrettes on the ends either. I didn't feel like throwing my money away with lost barrettes EVERY DAY. I'm very frugal.
I think satin baby sheets are the best idea. The other thing is to buy soft knit caps (as opposed to the harsh wool ones) now that it is getting cool. Finally, the same rule applies for babies--moisture, moisture, moisture /images/graemlins/smile.gif.
Girl, I was in the same boat as you with my now 15 month old daughter. When her hair finally grew in at 8 months ( after rubbing all that headful of hair that she was born with off), her sides were bald! The only thing I put in her hair was "Hair Milk" by Carol's daughter. What a difference! What helped more, believe it or not, was the Wild growth oil- from 8 months with 0 hair to 15 months, my daughter now has 3 1/2 inches ( yes I
ve been measuring) of hair that I can cornrow- and also- no more bald temples! I also massage her scalp and wash her hair once every 3- 4 weeks. If you try this, I hope it works for you. /images/graemlins/smile.gif
my baby girl is two and when she was 10 months old she had a small curly afro and thin sides also.; What did I do nothing expect washed it every week and use EVOO on it everyday and now she has thick beautiful hair. Be patient your baby girl's hair will grow in no time.
I was thinking the same thing, as Bklynqueen, wild growth oil, but I would have added a little castor oil. Ayodele's hair dropped out that stage, their hair is very fuzzy, so the rubbing on the pillow rubs out the hair, anyway, in not time, her hair was thicker and stronger.
