Hello ladies!
Ive been diligently browsing through the threads on here since officially deciding to rock my natural hair and do away with heat, drawstring ponytails, etc. I found a lot of helpful advice and tips but I also know a key to caring for curls is knowing your hair type and porosity…...

Finally decided to redo these freetress micro crochets.. When I did them a year ago the braid pattern was to spacey .. Now the braid pattern is just right.. What do you ladies think of these twist crochets..
This is why I favor naturals wearing their own hair out more. How else can we change the perception faster? Any ideas?

I haven't posted on this side in ages… but I did wanna share my BC with you guys!!! It's gonna take me some getting used to. I transitioned for 7 months. I had planned on transitioning for 2 years but that "new year, new me" swirling in my brain wouldn't let me make it beyond 12/31/16. :lachen...
My last relaxer was in August 2012. By the end of that year my hair would be in a pitiful condition. I was reckless to the point that my hair became over processed, and heat damaged. I'd also given myself a few bald patches for good measure (from misuse of clip-ins). Just bad bad bad.

Hey ladies! I am in the market for a new high quality flat iron and I want pure ceramic. Which would you recommend? And where did you purchase it?
I have natural cottony hair if that makes a difference.
I only blowdry my hair once a year or so, and I've had the same hairdryer (Wahl PowerPik) for 10+ years. It seems that I can get a better quality one, what things should I look for? I have an old bottle of ORS Heat Protection Hair Serum, is that one ok or is there a superior product?
Thanks in...
Hello,
I'm going on a vacation to Disney World a week before I start my second year of nursing school. I need a hairstyle, conducive for natural hair, that will be able to withstand water and last for a month to two months. Can anyone give me any ideas? My initial idea was to get small braids...
So I've noticed over the years that my hair tends to fare better when I shampoo more frequently. I know especially for many naturals that shampooing frequently is seen as "bad", but I think it's a bit misleading. I find the issue mostly being using too harsh shampoos and too much of it at once...
I remember when denman brushes were super popular and it seemed that everybody had one. Finger detangling has become really popular and a lot of youtubers seem to be going that route. What say you ladies? Do any of you still use a denman? If you used to, what made you stop?

Im officially apart of the natural community now. I big chopped last night!!
After 24 years of being relaxed I finally meet my natural hair. Im going to miss being APL but with all the breakage I had when I was relaxed, it was more stress than it was worth.
So, any tips for my TWA?
Hi everyone - it's been a minute since I've been here. I recently received a devacut and the stylist used Uncle Funky's Daughter Curl Magic. I have 3c/4a hair - what is a good complement to the product from the same line? I LOVE how my hair looks and feels.
