I twisted my hair last night and just knew my twistout this morning was gonna be the business.




It wasn't :look:


So I quickly had to throw it up in a crazy looking updo :perplexed

How many times during the week do you wake up to a mess on your head? What do you end up doing to it if you have to run out the door quickly?
 
Almost every single day!!! Wet it to the max with condish and slick it back with a headband. This works b/c I am in twists.

When my hair is out, I soak it and then puff it. :lol: A puff hides a multitude of sins! :lol:
 
not that often. Usually if I've put my work in I get predictable results. But when I look a mess on purpose, I just slip on a full wig or half wig with hat. Works for me!

What in particular was wrong with your twist out? Maybe we can help you?

I didn't twist it the way I usually do so that was the problem. thats what i get for experimenting and such :lachen:
 
note: experiment when you don't have anywhere to go. :giggle: I bet the updo was fine.

As for the question, define H.A.M. :look: I'm going to say at least once a week. This week, probably 2 or 3 already with another 1 or 2 in the remainder of the week. :nono: It's in a raggedy bun right now.
 
Rarely ever, but that's because I'm usually sleeping with my hair in a braid with a scarf on.
If I'm doing twists or something like that, I still have them held down with a scarf. If for some reason they are all crazy looking in the am, a nice bun always does the trick.
Roll those twists up and secure with a clip, use a scarf for a headband and out the door, I go.
I'm the bun lady, it saves me from alot of worry.
 
well dag near everyday since I havent had a relaxer in a while. My hair is getting tangled with the ng. But Im hiding under a half wig until Dec.

I remember those nights, when I was natural I would stay up late twisting my hair only for it to come out a HAM the next morning. I'd be PISSED..

But your hair is a lot thicker and longer than mine so I'm sure it didnt look bad.
 
right now almost everyday lol. Im just doing buns so all I do is spritz it with my homemade spray than seal with vatika frosting and be on my way.

ham for me personally equals a shapeless, frizzy lopsided dry mess :lachen:

Especially since I have just become a DIY in January. I was use to having Salon "Perfectly Coiffed Hair" on a weekly basis....Until it all fell out.:look:

So, now I am doing it myself. Yes, I get alot of stares from people that know that me: Like.....okay.....what is really going on with your hair???:perplexed

Naturally, I don't have the technique down yet,of how to handle my hair and I am still learning but it's all been good.:yep:
 
Are you kidding? Every morning after I take off my Betsy Ross bonnet , I look like Fredrick Douglass.
 
lately, its been looking a HAM everyday.

unless, i sleep in rollers, but that's just too uncomfortable!

decent sleep or decent hair? i'm choosing my sleep.

I go to the gym 4-6 days a week at 5a.m. and sweat like a horseteam.

I'm a H.A.M. right now, actually.

Then, at night, I'm too tired to mess with it. I want to shampoo right now and flat iron in the morning, but I will just braid and spray with my infusium/conditioner/jojobaoil/water bottle and go to bed!!!

Sore muscles make me sleepy!
 
I needed this thread. Today I was mad all day because I looked a HAM. I have to just laugh it off and keep it moving. Blending the two textures is getting harder and harder.

Same thing happened to me - but I had her put it up in a weave for about a year.. then when I took it down and was trying to care for it own my own I knew not what I was doing :wallbash: it was dry and brittle and falling out.. I was going twice a week to the salon...The beatician was no help at all. You look to them because they are the professionals yet they just know how to wash and flat iron, weave and/or perm and if you have a problem oh well. I went off into left field somewhere lol.

I wear braid outs all the time right now and throw in a bun every now and then. My hair is being really nice to me - no bad hair days so far :spinning:

I'm not scared of bad hair days, BRING IT ON, :lachen: :lachen:

My saviours in a REALLY H.A.M on my head include:

1. Moisturising spritz (con, water, evoo and glycerin) generously applied, sealed in with shea butter mix (shea butter, aloe vera gel, castor and coconut oils)
2. One of my MANY headbands or scarves
3. 1 or 2 Bobby Pins to pin up my hair

I'm ready for my ugly hair days, I WILL make my hair look ok no matter what... :lachen:

I once had a bad braidout result, I did this:



But now, I just gather my messed up braidout together, twist and pin up like here:

8 times out of 10, Imma wake up havin a HAM on my hands :lol: I'm very style challenged. Bunning is my thing, you can never go wrong with a bun :D
 
0 on 7... I braid my hair every night (6 plaits) and put japanese rollers on the ends, satin scarf, bonnet. In the morning, I just do a braid-out ponytail by fingercombing. A very simple style but it is consistently neat. Actually I was inspired by a Traycee's video last year and have been doing that since then. Thanks Traycee :) In the week-end I wear my hair out (braid-out or rollerset)...

ETA: The 2 last pictures in my siggy are the braidout I get from my 6 plaits. The 4th picture is a washngo.
