...and I'm taking it out this evening :perplexed

I HATE HATE HATE it.

I've attached pics of what it was supposed to look like and what it actually looks like because I'll know you'll say :needpics:
The picture is actually after taking out 2 lines of hair when I got home, it was too 'out there'.

I was so self concious all the way back home. It is too short for a start, it should be just below the jawline and not above. The fringe is awful, it is crooked at the back, one side is longer than the other and my sister tells me I look like a Super Mario mushroom!!

I did let the stylist know that I wasn't happy but it is not one of those 'the customer is always right' salons...you do get what you pay for at this ghetto establishment. They are really good with sew-ins and braids but not with anything else.

I am just angry with myself because I just knew they'd mess up the cut but I still let them do it. I should have left it long and gone to a white salon for a really nice cut but I didn't listen to that inner voice. The scissors she used were so blunt that it was a struggle to cut thread!

I thought about going to another salon to fix the cut but it is just too short, I don't think I'll ever be happy with it. I'm just going to take it out and put it down to experience and make sure I follow my instincts next time.

Waste of money, waste of time :wallbash:

My only consolation is that they didn't cut my real hair like this (I might be in jail by now) and when I take this out I may have a lighter wallet but I will still have my healthy APL hair.

Sorry this happened to you. It's ok. Just even the bangs out and fluff your hair so it has a messy look and you will be ok.

I don't think it looks terrible, but at least now you know. Above the jawline, you probably have an 'Anna Wintour' thing going on. Girl, embrace it and rock it out. You never know, maybe it can be salvaged. Don't give up on it without going to a reputable place to see if they can work with it. You've already shelled out the money, at least wait before you completely call it quits.

Believe it or not, it was worse than this! I tried to straighten it out but I'm not at home and don't have my sharp scissors. I may way until tomorrow to give it a try and if it doesn't work then I'll take it out then. All I know is there is no way I am stepping into work like this on Monday!

I would just try to get the bang straightened out before I took it out. I think it will look very cute once that's fixed. I know you can't correct the length but I think it's a VERY cute style otherwise. :yep:

Of course there's nothing wrong with that length but I understand how you wanted what you wanted and you didn't get it. But that is a very cute style and I'd try to hold off on taking it out. Don't do anything drastic and wait at least 24 hours before you do anything.

I don't think it looks bad. I think you should go to another place (maybe supercuts) and let them run some thinning shears thru it and get the bangs fringed more maybe.

I think you could work with it.

Or you could puchase some hair razors or thinning shears at sallys and thin it out yourself. Good Luck OP.

Side by side comparison

Dont take it out, I think it looks nice.

What I would do is:
Sew one more track in on the front to help even out the fringe and if you sew it in a semi circle around the front of your head it might help you add a small bit of length.
then have layers cut on the back of it to make it lok like a 60's style bob.

It can be salvaged dont worry

HTH

Don't take it out! It just looks like you need to trim the bangs straighter across versus rounded to match the picture....whatever you decide we have your back, but I think it looks GREAT!:yep:

Good luck

I'd salvage and find a shorter style I could live with and let someone else cut it. That way it wouldn't be a total loss. Some beauticians just can't follow visual instructions very well. Sorry you didn't get what you wanted though =[

I agree. It jus looks like the bangs need to be evened out. It may be salvagable. Have u gone to another stylist to get a possible re-cut? That's what I do if I don't like the way my first stylist cuts.

I hate to be the oddball...but I'm not much of a fan of it on the model :( But I do agree that it would probably look better if the bangs were even on you.

How would it look with some curls in it? What would Rhianna do to that hairstyle? Maybe messy it up and it won't matter that it's not exact.

i agree w. everyone else. it looks nice. just fix the bangs and maybe get some layers it'll be alright. i was expecing a whole lot worse

Maybe it looks different in person. But too me it looks quite similar to the picture. Its just the bangs aren't straight and its a bit fuller. But nothing that can't be fixed.

OOOOOH BUT NO! YOU BETTER AWAKEN THE INNER DIVA IN YOU AND WORK IT, GURL!

Trust me, the right attitude can skyrocket any look. This will just take some getting use to, but if you do take it out please believe, you will look back and hate the experience 10x as much. So have fun with it:)

pretty!!!! i think u just need to trim the bangz to make it more even, but the style overall is adorable....

Rihanna would have gone to a decent stylist! :lachen:

Thanks for your responses ladies, I really was ready to take it out last night. This pic is after taking out 1 line (that she doubled up) so it looked even fuller before.

I'm going to Supercuts this morning to see what they can do and will make a decision after that. I'm starting a new project at work on Monday (new team, new client, new location) and I don't want to walk in looking like a mushroom!

I'll be back to post pics after I get back from Supercuts.

Aww hun i think it looks nice, the bangs need straightening out. However i know what its like if you want something to look a certain way and it doesn't come out.

I agree....Let someone else who knows how to cut, shape it up and thin it out a bit and you should be fine!:yep:

I like it. I would just shear the bangs to thin them out and give them some movement. Other than that it looks fine to me.

I went to another stylist and they straightened out the fringe and the cut. It looked better but I still wasn't comfortable with it so I took it out yesterday evening :(

pics are uploading, will edit to add

It looked better in the salon after the stylist cut it but as the hair moved around it didn't look too good and I thought I just can't be combing this every 5 minutes! The stylist could probably have done a better job, I think she was a bit confused about weaves to be honest! No big deal though, I have deep conditioned today and will probably get another sew-in in a couple of weeks.

Whenever I get a sew in and want a funky cut, I go to Visible Changes, ( I don't know if they have them where you are) It is a multi-ethnic salon (although it appears to be a white salon) and they do a good job with weaves....much to my surprise!
