For me it's the flat iron. Or rather, heat period. To my credit, I did go from freshening up my hair with a flat iron multiple times a week to just doing it once at wash day and cross wrapping the rest of the time. I know it's what is causing me split ends and probably breakage.. but i just keep running back to it because a) i've finally perfected the full swangy look, and b) maintaining a totally straight look is so easy, and c) when i go out...straight hair seems the most appropriate.

I'm gonna try to only do curly updos when i go out for the next month...but i can already feel the lure of the flat iron calling me!

What are you addicted to/not doing enough that is hurting your progress?

Greasin' my scalp.

I can't give that up. I feel naked if i wash my hair, dry it and just leave without putting something on my scalp.

To me, that's like leaving the house without putting on any lotion.

I now use "good" greases or pomades without any scalp clogging agents so i never feel guilty about it.

The creamy crack. I'm so mad at myself for relaxing after almost 5 months of stretching. I really wanted to transition, but chickened out. Trying again....

Same here. I have found that if I do it right before I rollerset (on a damp scalp), I don't have an itchy scalp. Ever.:look:

Oh, and direct heat. I blow my roots out after a rollerset 2x/week.

I have dry itchy scalp so I would have to say I cant give up oiling my scalp also and my relaxer!! (though I might go natural one day way down the road)

Heat! Blowdrying with a round brush and then flat ironing. I have not figured out a PS for my short hair so until it can be put into a bun, I use heat
