I just finished putting these in. I used almost 6 packs of hair altogether. Hopefully the style will last me 2 months. I'm a little worried about my edges as they have always been thin....but we'll see. What do you ladies think?:grin:

Wow, those are so cute on you. I can't believe you did these yourself! How long did it take you? I like the way the ends curl in a spiral. Nice job QT.

Thanks so much:grin:! It took me about 10 hours over a span of 2 days to do. I just got lazy and kept stopping (when I do them for other people, it normally takes me 6-8 hrs non-stop).

I've been thinking about getting braids put it, but I'm not sure what kind, and I'm not sure if my hair is long enough yet. Your photos are making me lean towards kinky twists.
 
Wow they are beautiful. you did a beautiful job. Congrats. About the edges. You may have to do them bigger. use more of you hair because the braid hair is more then your hair and might weight it out. I do mine myself and I use more of my own hair than braid synthetic hair.

But omg they are beautiful.

ETA: About the thinning edges, I agree with Closer1's suggestion about using more of your hair with the weave. But also, if you're leaving the parts the same, use less weave hair than the rest of the other twists. Being the twists on top will cover the smaller sized twists also. But either way will work, so that it's less strain/tension on your edges, just makes very sure they're not tight in those areas also

Thank you all so much! I was honestly a little skeptical about putting these back in, especially with my hair being relaxed.

Closer1 and AsTheCurlsTurn: ITA w/ your idea. I normally do the edges bigger than this, but it always makes me look bald in those areas:nono:. I read on growafrohairlong.com that if you have thin hair you should make the parts smaller so there's no tension. I'm going to keep it this way for a week, if I still feel uncomfortable, i'll redo them:yep:. BTW, I tried to make them as loose as I possibly could. Thanks!

Abordeaux: I say go for it! I think that kinky twists on natural hair look wonderful. I do them for a friend of mine every now and then and she loves them:yep:. She started off w/ a TWA just like yours!

Stilletos: Hi! The hair brand is Janet. The texture is called "Afro Marlay Braid". The hair comes in other brands as well, they may be named "Kinky Braid" or "Puffy Screw"
 
You have some serious skills. Because everytime I've gotten these done the person had to start off braiding because starting the twist off as a twist was too difficult. My braid were gorgeous no lie, but just saying you have skills.

I love them they are soooo neat and gorgeous.

ITA with the others, dont wait for a no-edges disaster to happen, it will take forever to grow back.

Use more of your hair and less of the synthetic hair.....and dont mover your edges around too much, because they will pull from the root.

Look goo though!

Yes.

These look great, I wish I had that kind of patience. I have tiny twist only in the front of my hair today and that alone made me wanna go to sleep.:yawn:
