Just wow!! Found this while looking around tonight.

The ingredients are good but the price is a :lachen:

It also contains live olive oil, whatever that is. i guess there's enzymes or something in it to make it live and other olive oils not alive?

The directions:
  • To stimulate hair growth: Use dropper to apply Rare Hair Oil directly to the scalp, then massage in and let penetrate overnight before washing out.
  • To thicken and strengthen hair: Rub a dropper-full of Rare Hair Oil between your palms and work through hair's length and ends. Braid hair and leave in as long as you like before shampooing.
  • To eliminate frizz and promote ultimate softness and shine: Rub a drop or two of Rare Hair Oil between your palms and gently smooth over dry hair before styling.
  • To eliminate static: Use the dropper to apply several drops to your hairbrush before brushing hair.
  • To detangle: Work a drop or two of Rare Hair Oil through wet hair before combing.
here's the disclaimer at the bottom of the page:

Please note: Due to the "live" ingredients in this product,
we regret we cannot accept returns.

They must be pulling an early April Fool's Joke on us. :lachen::lachen:

There is no way that I can be of sound mind and even consider making that purchase. :spinning:

Very interesting but that's waaaaaaay too expensive. I'll pass. *off to research this live olive oil they speak of*

:lachen:I know. Hell F#%& No to that

It would have to grow my hair 3" a month with one usage or prove to be able to do something just life changing for my hair....Because i would be buying that stuff 2x a month with me being extra extra lighthanded, otherthan that, i would do like $1600...maybe even $2,000 :nono:

What does Live OIl have to do with returning?

Maybe if i was Oprah or Beyonce and wanted to feel like i was ballin out of controll and a Diva

Organic "Live" Olive Oil Imported from Italy
This remarkable oil (the most expensive on the market today) comes from rare olives that grow at exceptionally high altitudes in the Tuscan mountains. The fruits are harvested by hand and cold pressed using a unique "Live Oil" method that keeps the antioxidant polyphenol content remarkably high.
This high concentration of antioxidants destroys free radicals (caused by tobacco smoke, alcohol, stress, lack of sleep and pollution) that can damage scalp cell membranes and lead to scalp problems, hair loss and slow growth. When massaged into the scalp, the polyphenols help promote a healthier scalp, faster hair growth and greater hair thickness.

It looks like the olive oil in this hair oil is the pure, organic, virgin olive oil one doesn't easily find in health stores. These polyphenols remind me of what green tea contains. Since I don't see any testimonials or reviews, it might be better buying the ingredients and making this hair oil.

Here is an example of "live" olive oil:

Ooooohh......Yeah, probally be able to do something satsifying for under $20----must be some good stuff though

do you have any idea who would have live olive oil isis cause i've been trying to find more info about it everywhere and get nothing.

where would you get it?

Only if it guarantees that I will get qaudruple my growth rate!:lachen:

HA! right? it should detangle an entire head the tightest of ng and kinkiest of hair in 5 minutes or less.

they make sure they say no returns on this one LOL!!

edit:

Thanks Isis!!!!! Very interesting read! Very pricey olive oil, don't think i'd use that on my hair at all.

What will they think of next!

What I want to know is how many they have actually sold. That is crazy.

From looking at their website, it looks like they have been stalking hair forums. Did you see the products they carry?

Yes, I noticed that too. She also has a hair blog so she probably does frequent hair forums.

That oil is way too much money. Some of her other products look good, Shea-mu Hair Butter and the Fortifying Hair Mist but still on the pricey side ($34 & $18)

Here is her blog (Jennifer)

 they lost they rabbit @$$ mind!! :nono:

now if they wanted someone to "test" their product and they were handing it out for FREE then I might change my mind

Unless they can guarantee that I can go from nape length to waist length overnight (key word guarantee), I don't see myself spending that much money on hair oil.:perplexed Plus, I don't like the "no return" policy.

I just added this link to my post of an example of "live" olive oil:
http://www.livingtreecommunity.com/store2/product.asp?id=8&catid=16

Thanks for the link. This live olive oil looks interesting. I am so tempted to order a bottle...one of the smaller $20 bottles just to try it...if I did, I'm sure a few drops would end up on my scalp...

ETA: if I had the money (all things being relative), I would possibly spend it but the "no return" policy on this oil (haven't checked the site to see if this applied to any other products) would still be a deal breaker. The site that Isis provided said that the live oil has no shelf life... I'm also distrubed by the idea that they may try to resell something that was returned. Also, I think one could make their own "shea-mu" butter...I have tubs of shea butter and a bottle of emu oil here now...:look:

As far as I know, there has only been one person certified that their products/plan work to grow hair and that is cathy howse. If she ain't makin' (which she wouldn't mind you) then puck nope!

I saw this oil last night while looking for longhairlover. I think that the Neroli oil in it is also part of the reason they are claiming such a high price.

Thats a rip off, we that kind of money i can buy myself a flight ticket and go to the dominican republic. I wonder how many people has bought this already...SAD.

That's just crazy...how could one even bring themselves to type the words..."4oz. $400"...I mean, what exactly are you guaranteeing with this "rare oil"...no way in heck.

I would have to have be guaranteed growth to waistlength w/in a very short period of time to even consider it. No way!

No way.
It is like paying 400.00 for eye cream.

Studies prove that the 15 buck eye cream works just as well..

:nono: That is only if you have money to BURN:greedy::greedy:

Outrageous. I'd need a guarantee of at least one inch a month. right now I get a quarter of an inch.

unless i hit the lotto, i won't be trying this oil anytime soon but that doesn't kill the curiosity factor one bit :lachen:

did anyone check out the shampoos and conditioners? they actually do look pretty good with some good ingredients.

that Ice Age one really has me wondering........it contains clay.

cannot, will not occur on THIS end. . . I don't want something that "HELPS promote" ANYTHING!!!! for $100 an ounce it better COME with a full set of bra strap length hair! *mumbling* (*^*$!*#$ freaking help PROMOTE! promote THESE! im mad about the SHIPPING I had to pay for these gosh darn things they don't carry in stores.
