Ive only tried the Light Elements Reviving Mist. I reviewed it in my blog.

It might be my new bf. Its great for the ladies who work out or wear braids.

I bought the damage remedy, will be posting reviews on my site soon:D

Now, I'm about to break the bank again. As a result of this thread, I think I'm going to purchase the following:

Hang Straight
Smoothing Fluid
Damage Control

What's 3 more things to add to my arsenal of Aveda products!

Candie, your hair looks absolutely gorgeous in your avatar!

Thanks to you ladies I went to the local Aveda salon and purchased the scalp shampoo and the mint conditioner. It was the least expensive and I was desperate to get me some Aveda if it was only a sample:lol: Anyway these were the cheaper ones under 25.00 for both. I absolutely love the detangling, Moisture, slip, lightness, softness. I could tell a difference right away from the a hum, Suave products:perplexed THanks ladies! Im sold on Aveda!

So far I am using the DR line, and it is good stuff. Although its pricey it is concentrated so it seems I will get a lot of uses for my money. I have also used the Be Curly when I was natural as well as the humectant pomade. I am also currently using the smoothing fluid.

And as we speak I just went on Ebay to bid for the Brilliant Shampoo and conditioner as well as the smooth infusion line.

I love it...

My favs are:

Aveda DR
Sap Moss Concentrate
Brilliant Universal Styling Cream
Brilliant Emollient

I have a sample of the sap moss shampoo and brilliant conditioner that I am going to try today.

Ladies, when doing twist outs or spiral sets, do you use the Anti-Humectant or the Humectant as a holding gel?

If neither, then what do you use? I'm trying to find an Aveda product that is non-drying for my spiral and twist-outs.

Thanks,

SP!

Question For The Long Hair Aveda Users:

How long do the conditioners last you? I remember PinkSkates mentioning that she uses this line exclusively. If you're reading this, especially since you are natural, how long has the 8oz compared ot the liter lasted for you ... and anyone else reading this too with long hair.

I rotate my Aveda conditioners depending on what I plan on doing to my hair. I have the 8.5 ounces of the DR, SI, and the Brillant. And it takes two silver dollar sizes of conditioner to cover my hair after shampooing. These will last me a long while since I don't use each line weekly.

You're welcome! I like talking about Aveda products:)
Hi there pinkskates, you mentioned in a previous post that you use a product by aveda on your edges that prevents them from reverting...could you let me know, because I am going to the salon tomorrow and I wanted to purchase it....thanks a bunch.:)

Hi Nikki253,
I apply Aveda's Brillant Anti-Humectant Pomade and a smidge of Extra Virgin Coconut Oil to my edges when I'm straightening my hair. And I have almost no hairline reversion, even after a hard night of skating:) . I hope it works for you!

Oooh, thanks for the tip Pinkskates. This was what was rattling around in my mind, as I was wondering how much coniditoner I'd need. It seems this line is cocentrated, good to know.

For my hair, it does well at smoothing it out and detangling. JLove has been using it a lot longer than I have, and she's posted some very good reviews on it here at the LHCF.

I second that! It has really helped in the detangling department and also my hair feels silky after I wash. I haven't tried flat ironing afterwards, but one of the Aveda ladies told my best friend today that the SI line is really good for people who flat iron. I dunno, flat iron or not, it's a keeper in my cabinet.

Went to the Aveda Institute yesterday because I was really interested in the Rosemary Mint Shampoo and Condition or the Brilliant Shampoo and Conditioner. A beautiful black sales lady came up to me and asked what I was looking for. I told her. She replied that she had the entire AVEDA lines and none of them work as well as AVEDA DR. Everything else, according to her, including the Sap Moss, SI and Pure Abundance lines made her hair hard. She had lovely hair, by the way. So I ended up not buying more products. I'm glad that she was honest with me. She said that most of these AVEDA products are formulated for white hair. Yes, even the ones that claim to have moisturizing properties for dry, damaged hair. Again, she said that only the AVEDA DR line is worth it.

I wondered if anyone else felt the same about the following lines:

1. SI
2. Sap Moss
3. Shampure
4. Pure Abundance
5. Rosemary Mint
6. Brilliant
7. Be Curly
8. Scalp Remedy
9. Color Preserve

Thanks,

SP ;)

Of all the lines you named I've tried the DR, SI and Brilliant. I love the DR of course, but the SI did nothing for my hair :nono: so I exchanged it for the brilliant poo & conditioner. So far I really like the brilliant conditioner, almost as much as the DR conditioner. Tonight im going to mix the 2 together to see how they work together.

O, I did try the Shampure poo that came in the little pouch...it was pretty good too. I love the smell :lick:

I haven't really heard anyone say too much about the Anti-Humectant Creme. A friend of mine told me once before that it was good for pressing hair, and it keeps the hair from reverting in humid weather. Can anyone else elaborate? Thanks!!

I voted DR and Brilliant. The DR conditioner has been my precious for a while, but I haven't used it since I got the Brilliant conditioner. :wow:

My stylist used the SI line on my hair when I went to Aveda for a cut. I was hoping she would use the DR line, but I was very pleased with SI. She also used a serum on my hair I am not sure which one, (it was clear) but my hair felt like butter after the flat iron.

Out of the three Aveda lines I use (including DR and SI), I'm feeling Sap Moss the most right now. I use the concentrate, poo, and con. I've been hearing good things about the Brilliant con forever...I think I'll try that next.

I thinks it's a matter of opinion. I used to use the Deep Penetrating Revitalizer Condition (don't think they sell it anymore...at least I can't find it) and it worked well, along with the Cherry Almond Bark Conditioner. The Brilliant Shampoo and Conditioner works pretty well too. I have to agree that the Damage Remedy has worked with the best for me.

I used it for years. It worked pretty good to prevent reverting during the humid summers, and it lasts forever. My boyfriend found it and took it from me to use so I never replaced it. Love the smell.

See,i was using the DR line before LHCF and also before i had a portable dryer. I tried using the treatment and just blow drying my hair, and it made my hair hard.I had to re-apply and just leave it on w/o heat to get my hair back right. I am going to re-purchase the DR treatment and use it with my portable dryer and see how it works. If it worked so well w/o a good dryer, this should boost my results right?
This was one of my staples, except for the price.I'm just going to suck it up and keep it.
Just thinking of all the money i've wasted on products since i quit using it makes me want to slap myself...:nono:
This and my Kenra MC should be a good balance of light protein and moisture.
