After an extremely long break from hair boards and dedicated hair regimens, I'm back on it. Just wondering what are the favourite products for moisture these days and if there are any new products I should be looking out for, I'm interested in moisturising lotions/creams, leave ins and moisturising conditioners...

My hair is roughly at BSL, how I don't know as I've spent the last few years ignoring my poor locks and doing the bare minimum. I feel ready to embrace my haircare journey once again, pulling out some of my old journals and refamiliarising myself with what my hair likes and dislikes.

Looking forward to joining challenges and dusting off my measuring T. Shirt....

Welcome back @Angel of the North !

My daily moisturizing routine consists of spritzing my hair with a mix of aloe juice and fenugreek tea and sealing with whipped shea butter and TJ nourish spa conditioner. I've been doing this for about 2 years, although I've just recently added the fenugreek tea to the aloe juice mix. This has been working well for me along with weekly DC's.

Thank you. That sounds amazing, I tried fenugreek a few times, I really liked the results, I boiled the seeds. Before I fell off, I really wanted to make my own products, I think once I've gotten through my current stash and gotten my heart fully back in the game, I'm going to do it.

I use Qhemets Biologics Amla and Olive Heavy Cream, spritz with The Mane Choice Four Leaf Clover Leave in and seal with Natural Oasis Hair Grease. I have texlaxed hair as well. This combo is very moisturizing from roots to ends.

I remember using Quemet moisturiser a couple of times, it was probably the burdock root butter cream for finer hair, but that doesn't sound familiar. I see they have expanded on the product range, it was really difficult to get hold of in the UK making it not very cost effective, that's why I didn't continue to use it. I'm going to check out the spritz, sounds interesting.... Thank you.

You're welcome!

I like the sound of the Sunny Isle JBCO pure butter, I may have to check it out...

I think it's definitely work checking out. It's been doing amazing things for my hair's moisture levels in this crazy NC humidity. It makes it so that I can go 1-2 days without having to remoisturize my hair instead of moisturizing my hair everyday or even twice a day. Plus it comes in 2 oz jars which are perfect for a trial run!

Thank you, I definitely will, has it helped with growth at all?

The LOC method has been my go to remoisturize my hair throughout the week.

I alternate liquids weekly:
Belle Bar Organic Aloe Vera Spray
Henna Sooq Moroccan Tea
Organic Rose Water
Due to covid... only leave ins I’ve been able to get my hands on:
Melanin Hair Care Leave In
Camille Rose Coconut Water Leave In

I use the same oils but I’ll buy oil blends here and there:
Organic Baobob Oil
Avocado Oil
Melanin Hair Care
Argan Oil
Sweet Almond Oil
Coconut Oil
Anita Grant Monoi de Tahiti Oil
I seal my moisture & oils using either butter on the last 1-2 inches of length:
The Curl Smiler
Belle Bar Organic Argan & Shine Butter
I typically spray my twist directly w/ a liquid spray and squeeze in the leave in and remaining products.

Both of those are new to me, only just heard about TGIN around 2 weeks ago and Surge Jr even less than that. How are you finding the spray, is it working for you?
I haven’t been consistent enough with the Surge Jr. I have a lot of things going on lol

Whoops, I’m just now realizing this post is from June 9th. Apologies for the late reply.

Scurl on my LCO evenings

Days when I just need quick moisture (on cornrows or blown out hair) - Design Essentials Almond and Avocado Daily Moisturizing Lotion (not the leave in conditioner).. a LITTLE bit goes long way.

Good thread. Someone mentioned Qhemet biologics. The Alma and Olive heavy cream, Burdock Root Cream and Coco Detangling Ghee are all staples for me. I really love Uncle Funky's "thirsty curls" as a liquid leave in. Recently, I have been enjoying the 'Lavish' leave-in conditioner by Miche and the 'African Nomad Butter' by Sahel cosmetics(sold out right now but I am stocked up...I love this products)....they are added to the staples tier this year. The Hawaiian Silky gel has been my favorite "activator" moisturizer since S-Curl removed mineral oil and parabens. The new one does not penetrate my hair, but I used to follow "Sera's"(from fotki) , water, s-curl shea butter layering like clockworld before the formulation changed in S-Curl.
