I don't want to make this too long but I have been trying to hit waist length for YEARS. It seems like my hair just hits a plateau when it gets around mid back length and I don't understand why. I know about proper hair care, sticking to a regimen, moisturizing/sealing, all that. My hair stays in a protective style (bun or French braids) 95% of the time. I know for a fact my hair is growing like a weed but I'm obviously not retaining length and it's frustrating me

That is me in my avi. There's a very small section on the front top of my head that I bleach, I touch up the roots once or twice a year. I don't know my hair type but I have thick natural hair that is kinky/curly/wavy. I wear French braids/corn rolls most of the time. When I do wear buns, they are loose high buns that I take down nightly and put back up in the morning in a different position. I wash my hair once every 3-4 weeks, D.C. Once every 3-4 weeks. Moisturize/seal every other day or every day depending on how my hair feels. I have A LOT OF hair & it is very hard to manage, which is why I try to leave them alone in braids and it's also why I rarely wash because the whole wash process takes SEVERAL hours for me to complete.
