I think she wanted to cut more. She was jealous.

Sorry OP. Jealous people. This just happened to one of my students. The girl had almost thigh length hair. The mom's friend cut her daughter's hair to a little below bsl. Her friend was like "oops". The girl (9) told me her mother was MAD.

It does look cute but.. That's deep... 2 or 3 inches may be a mistake bur what she did right there is a statement piece!

If it was me I wouldn't be able to bring myself to speak to her until I grew my hair out to WL then I'd call her over, do a HARD protein treatment and just WHIP that hair back and forth in her hating face til she wept!!

This is why I'm now a self trimmer..

Yeah she was definitely wrong. There is absolutely NO way she didn't know she cut off +5 inches.
My cousin is a hairstylist. . . she hasn't touched my hair in years, tho she begs to.

That is jealousy ! She knew What She was.doing. When hair was shorter She trimmed Well...but now.She cant stand seeing your great progress and length.She cant sleep knowing your hair is longer Than hers in good health ,so She did it! That is Bad. People Should best happy for eachother ....but this world .........crazy

I am also so.scared of.letting anyone touch my hair. People used to trim ,sorry i.mean Chop my hair shorter.pfff haters
 
I would be heated too. I always look in the mirror during trims- when I used to go to the salon. Now after watching tons of youtude videos on trimming, I trim my own hair. Did she say why she cut your hair 6 inches rather than 1-2 inches?

Maybe all is a bit much. I was gonna say I hope her hair fall out like when you shake a dried out Christmas tree.
 
She was jealous plain and simple. I can see 2 inches, but she went too far. I would have been heated over that...please self trim from now on. Your hair still looks cute and by the end of the year you are going to be better than ever...please make sure to show it off too.

I'm so sorry this happened :( ((hugs)) I agree with others, she was aware of how much she was cutting.

On the bright side, your hair will grow with great, even ends now.
 
When she trimmed it before you must have been around sl and then it grew and this time it was a little too long for her liking. I'd still wanna ask her why but after that I'd think it was jealousy too. I'm still really sorry. Don't fight her... I know... Tell her thank you act like you're happy about it come in there like "OMG now I can start fresh and when this time next year comes it's gonna be longer than it was girl your hands are magic but they'll never touch my hair again".
 
I'm sorry this happened...Just give it TLC...By summer you should have a good amount of growth...

What did she say when you confronted her after you saw what she did? I would be heated. I have nothing good to say cause I would stomp her out.

I'm sorry but she did this on purpose. There is no excuse in cutting that much hair off unless you are donating it or getting it cut into a style. Your cousin was jealous and thats that and so is everyone saying you still have a full head of hair. I hope your hair grows back twice as fast.

I really feel for you; however, it seems like you are dealing with this really well. I am still mad at DH for throwing out my Red Lobster doggy bag a few days ago! Thankfully your hair still looks good. I don't know your cousin so I can't say whether she was jealous or not. Sometimes people do what they think is best regardless of what you want. Cousin may have heard you asking for a trim but in her mind said "Her hair would look much better cut even. She doesn't know what she really wants. She'll thank me when she sees how good her hair turned out."
 
Wheel is gonna turn somehow..... Maybe not now.but it will some day ! While that happens you Should just show off that healthy hair of yours. Its.beautiful .try and trim yourself.from now. Its more sure .
 
Oh so she is one of those sneaky shs...the ones who pull a split personality just when you think things are fine....crazy scissor sara (the alter) comes out to play. when I get home I will post a link to an easy hair trim tutorial for whenn you reach pony length (found it on youtube and I use it myself)

Oh Hayell naw!! I'm sorry this happened to you. You should have beat 6 to 8 inches off her a$$! This was nothing but jealously. How did you react?? I would have picked up my 6 to 8 inches of hair up off the floor and tried to choke her out with it.
