which is better? texturize or texlaxed?

that's what i was wondering, i've read some people say they were texturized and others say they were texlaxed. i know that a texturizer is like s-curl but i thought that texlaxed is where you use a relaxer on your hair instead of the actual texturizer? i'm confused. i need serious help.

I do it (at least some version of one of them) and I'm not even sure what the difference is! I have come to think that texturizing is done with a "texturizing" chemical, albeit a mild relaxer. The result is a curly fro, reminding me of more like a jherri-curl/s-curl... The textlax version uses a relaxer product to relax the curl pattern of the hair to it's desired wave/coil/whatever. That said, they sound like one in the same, don't they? They both "relax the curl..."

So, to be further confused, I considered myself texturized when I used that Designers Touch (the one in the gold-colored jar with the magenta top?) texturizer (and it didn't do a daggone thing for my hair!!!) and now consider myself textlaxed because I use a mild Affirm relaxer to only slightly relax my hair.

Another thing I have discovered since going textlaxed: I can straighten my hair in a number of ways (flatiron, press, curl, set, etc) that I wasn't able to do when I was texturized. Basically when I was texturized I was wearing a coily/curly/puffy TWA and that was the extent of my hairstyling options.

I just assumed texturized was leaning more toward a natural, curlier look and texlaxed was more relaxed but still had some waves/coils when wet. But I really don't know, that's just what I'm guessing.

I think they are just about the same. With a texturizer, you can loosen your curl and wear it wavy/curly but you can also blow it straight if you choose to do so. From what I can see the texlaxed method allows you to do the same thing.

i'm texlaxed. i would say texlaxed only because i've heard about people being texturized and experiencing alot of problems.

texlaxed is just leaving the relaxer on for a shorter length of time, also using a mild even if the hair is coarse.

A texturizer did nothing for my hair. I couldn't straiten my hair for nuthin! How long do u leave a relaxer on for texlaxing? I'm looking into this for future knowledge.:scratchch

I choose texlaxed. I'm texlaxed and all I do is leave the relaxer on for a minute then I wash it out.

These definitions seem to change from person to person, it sometimes gets to be confusing. I never heard the word texlaxing until a short while ago when it was introduced on this board.

I have always called what I do texturizing even though I use a relaxer to do it. I simply make sure that I have everything ready and only have the relaxer on my hair for 5-6 min. It helps to slightly release my tighter curls.

I'm texturized. I used a Motions mild relaxer on my hair to loosen the curl pattern. I'm with Softresses on the new word texlaxed. Also the few that I met that were texlaxed had straight hair not curly like mines.
To be honest the relaxer laughed at my hair but the products work much better now. My hair retains moisture and I can do more styles now.
I found what works for me and I doubt if I leave this happy place.

I'd say texturized. My hair pattern hasn't changed, but it is softer and I use less product than before. I wouldn't know what to do with looser/wavy hair.

I'm voting for texlaxing because that's what I've had done. I love that I can wear my hair super big and curly, but easily blow dry or flat iron it to bone straight. Also i think the line of demarcation isn't as 'severe' (for lack of better word) so the stretch-time is no big deal.

to me texlaxed means most of the curl, like 90%, is gone from the hair but it's not bone straight. I consider myself texurized. my curl pattern didn't change with the texurizer, it's just a less bulky, less frizzy fro and the curls are more defined with less product. I can't just blowdry my hair to make it straight, like with texlaxed hair, I still would have to flat iron it if I wanted it straight.

I am texlaxed It's great for me cause I can wear my hair with lots of curls or rollerset to have a straighter look. Also, my fine hair tends to be much stronger and full of body!

I think texlated, but that's because my hair is texlaxed.

My wash and go is in my avatar, and my hair is gently flat ironed in my siggy. It's really hard to get my hair very straight...

My hair is texturized.

I wanted a lot of texture left in my hair. I love WnGs on natural hair but didn't care for the shrinkage so I texturized it.

So I guess my answer to which is better depends on what look you're going for. Most people would cry if they relaxed their hair and ended up with mine.
