Just came back from the salon and my hair is now sl/apl:sad: Im really sad over this because I was BSB going to MBL:wallbash:. My hair was really underpressed so I had to bring the relaxer cream all the way to the ends:drunk:.......I didnt think it would break off but it did:rolleyes:. So I went from BSB to APL:nono: So today I went to the salon and got my hair washed and set. She cut about 1-2 inches of damaged hair:sad:. My hair looks better and my ends are great but still :cry2: I think I need about 4-5 inches of NG to reach BSB again:sad:. Im really fighting back tears:ohwell: Feb 11 will be 3 years that Ive been on my HCJ and I feel like I took 10 steps back. Its like Im back to square one again:sad:..............Im still going to try for BSB by Jan 2011.......Yeah I know.....Im reaching:cry3:
 
So sorry to hear about your set back. Use it as a learning tool and when you stage your come back, it will be bigger and better!
 
Aww, Qualitee! Big (((HUGS))). I don't think that it will be a stretch to get to BSB by 1/11. I also had a setback that took me to SL last August (see siggy) :ohwell:.

Now that you have had a good cut and your hair is healthy, you will see tremendous growth and retention! :yep: Your hair will look better than ever!

idt bsb in jan is far fetched at all. that's like 9mths away, lol. what is that? 4.5 in. minimum?

just baby your hair and you'll get there in no time. prob b4 jan.

Yea I hope so. I hope I grow at least 6 this year so I can cut of 1 inch every 4 months

yea it does..............but Im still sad. I bun 24/7 ppl even know me as the bun girl and it like i did all that hard work for nothing:sad:
 
Awww I'm sorry to hear about your setback. I had one last year from trying to stretch and bunning too tight. I think Beans4reezy is right when she said use it as a learning tool.:yep:


I don't anticipate anymore setbacks, but I do know for my hair to look the way that I want to I'm gonna lose some inches.

Try not to stress over it too much, that hair will be back before you know it.:yep:

Hopefully you'll get that summer growth spurt and by fall you will have grew it back plus some.
 
Wow Q... I feel sad for you. :sad: I'm really sorry to hear that. I just had a setback a few weeks ago that I'm still upset about, although it isn't as drastic as yours is. I guess we will have to take this as a lesson learned and do better for the future. :yep:

Aww, I'm sorry this happened. I suffered from set backs also so I know how you feel.

Your hard work wasn't for nothing, you learned how to retain and you can do it again.

BSB by next January is not far fetched at all, you can do it!
 
I am so very sorry that this happened to you. However, you know that your hair will grow and you know what you need to do to get it back, too!
 
All I can can do is give you a :bighug: because I know how you feel. I went from almost MBL back to APL in November.

I can say that it will grow back soon because mine is almost BSL again.

I had somewhat of a setback, too. I got a trim, and she cut it very bluntly...I feel like I'm right where I was one year ago. However, fresh ends are a plus, so don't worry too much :)

Relaxers gave me years of setbacks. I guess my hair just doesn't agree with it. Maybe you should consider a long stretch or going natural.

BTW your hair WILL grow! Maybe you'll be there again by December.

I'm so sorry to hear about your setback, Qualitee. Your hair is healthy now, though, and you know what not to do in the future. When your hair grows back, it will be stronger than ever for those reasons.
 
Well if it helps, you just encouraged ME not to do the corrective relaxer that I was JUST thinking of doing a corretive on my nape only. It's already shorter than the rest of my hair and feels natural, I was going to pull the lye relaxer through to the ends...probably not the best idea now that you bring it up. So thank you for sharing, because I don't want another setback (the breakage in the nape was the first setback for me - ever). Just keep taking vitamins and drinking lots of water and that should help. Sounds like you are taking the best possible care of your hair. Thank you so much for sharing! I'm hoping you reach your goal before January. Sometimes it feels like our hair "rushes" to catch up to where it was before a trim/cut. :yep: Your post may have helped me avoid another setback. I'm listening and I'm learning!
 
Aww.... it will be okay... your hair will grow back and be even BETTER than before... think about it, you're starting from a healthy place! Just keep bunning and I'm sure you can make BSB again by January!! Stay positive!!! =)
 
Wow. I'm so sorry to hear this. I know any setback after so much hard work is disappointing but, you do have fresh, healthy ends to grow longer and stronger hair. ((HUGS)) You can do it!
 
Sorry to hear about your set back. Keep your head up. Your hair will grow back and be healthier than ever.:bighug: :bighug:Do you know why it was under processed to begin with? Did you switch relaxers? How long was the relaxer left on the under processed hair?
 
Aww Qualitee I'm so sorry to hear about your setback...Your hair will thrive now and you won't have to worry about anything now since you have some nice ends. :bighug:

Around this time last year I had a big setback where the left side of my hair broke off...it was layered from NL to SL and the right side of my head was a full and past SL. I had to slowly trim until it all evened out finally. I could have been past APL by now. The only good thing is I learned alot and now I know that I should only do what works for my hair and nothing different. Don't worry hun, your hair will be back and it will look better than before. :yep:

Aww... I know your pain. but don't let it get you down too much. That's how we have to learn sometimes. It's unavoidable.

NOW, you have healthy hair and a fresh cut so it'll only get better from here!
 
The same thing happened to me as well. Check my siggy.

Just making it to BSL is a length that many ladies here, including myself, have yet to see.

Of course your hair will grow back and even longer! Setbacks happen to pretty much all of us.

Be a testimony to ladies like myself who've yet to grow hair past their shoulders.

You'll look back on this post a year from now and smile.

Hang in there, it's a learning experience and you'll enjoy your hair even more when you get back to bsb in a healthy state.
