Thanks ladies. I guess I was more referring to the type of puffs. Mine isn't big and out there like some of the women in this thread ie. Mizz Brit. That's a huge puff to me. Are you guys picking out or teasing your hair so it's more afro like? I can't get mine like that.

Oh yeah I meant to say something about that. I get my hair smooth when I do my puffs on damp hair. If my hair is not damp, I damping the edges and then smooth.

I think so because usually just gel + boar bristle brush does the trick or pre-smoothing my hair into a loose pony while under running water from the shower makes it smooth as well

my half sister is mixed with indian so she has a loser curl pattern like these ladies and when she slicks it down it looks JUST like their hair so it def. is the curl pattern but if you heard of edges im sure you can get a good result!

Curl pattern and length! If your hair is long all around, you won't have the flyaways.

I'd say texture matters a lot as well! TaraDyan's curl pattern is similar to mine, but her texture is different.
Mine is COARSE

While hers is SILKY

In fact, her texture is a lot like wavezncurlz even though the pattern of wavezncurlz' hair is looser!

I believe everyone's hair can be slicked back and held in place with the scarf method to lay it down (usually while damp, doesn't have to be sopping wet) no matter the curl pattern or texture!

It may not LOOK shiny as their are and may just be full of sheen but it will lay flat! But if your hair texture and type isn't one that reflects light that way, it won't look "like theirs"

Different products give different results, too!
